  1. I had exactly the same idea. In the first picture of the built model in this thread the nose seems to be too 'fat'. Hopefully that's not the case, will eagerly await the day it comes out. Just hope real world events won't impact the availability of this kit...
  2. Pity the Russian company doesn't give us a Ukrainian option on the decal sheet. I wonder why?
  3. 69-16434 was seen, in non-flying condition, at Silver Bell AHP, Marana, AZ, in October of 1996. I was there in February 1998, but didn't see it (which doesn't imply it wasn't there).
  4. Hopefully the 1/72 model will have the correct 'sit', contrary to its 1/48 brother which looks like it is up on jacks.
  5. Negative. The boxart shows the 2017 4th FW 75th anniversary bird (which carries the Sniper pod in pictures I've found online). Lately Revell issues kits which often only have a single decal option, that might also be the case here.
  6. That is indeed bad news for the 72nd Fishbed family, but I have to say I'm not suprised. It was painfully clear the 72nd Revolution had been surpressed. Hopefully a MiG-21bis conversion set for the Eduard 'Interceptor' will be available soon. With the decent Modelsvit F-13 around, it would leave only the pain of having no decent twoseat MiG-21 (have I already mentioned the MiG-21UM was operated by at least 42 countries? ๐Ÿ™‚ ).
  7. Revell Aircraft kits - RV3841 | Hannants Sprueshots of the new Revell F-15E are up and have to say I am slightly underwhelmed: -single seat canopy included? -AIM-7 and AIM-9L/M instead of AIM-120 and AIM-9X? -Mk.82 freefall bombs? -LANTIRN pod instead of Litening or Sniper? Seems to be an end-of-90s era Mud Hen instead of an up-to-date one....Missed opportunity. But still; looking forward to F-15EX decals and conversion set!!
  8. Very nice! Hopefully more Flankers and some Turkish/Greek Phantoms in the pipeline!
  9. Impressive flying by that Viper pilot. So low and so slow, could have easily taken himself out.
  10. That looks great! I hope they will think of other F-4 cockpits as well, not just the E/EJ.
  11. Looking forward to this. Have around eight (two build, six or so in stash) from Hase, but will surely add the FineMolds kit to the stash in the future. DXM from Taiwan has produced a few fine F-2 sheets, but hopefully FineMolds will give us Cartograf printed sheets in the box....
  12. Well, not 'now' as I haven't seen her at any of the shows I've been to so far this year that did feature the Sk35 Draken, singleseat Viggen en Lansen. Is this bird in maintenance? I love your Viggen, although I personally believe a white background to the pictures would do her more justice.
  13. I used to take kits, or partial kits, with me that I could assemble without too much painting. I would often end up with subassemblies which I would put together and airbrush when back home. I also clipped parts (wings, fuselages) off of the sprues and chucked them into a (small) plastic storage container to rescribe once at my destination.
  14. Even a partial sheet would probably do it for me! Please PM if you can help.
  15. Let's hope they do most, if not all, versions of the Flogger, including a UB!
  16. Germans have RAL, the Brits British Standard and the USA Federal Standard when it comes to painting military aircraft. I believe the Russians have a similar system, but the problems begin when modeling companies or modelers use a western paint standard to try and match a Russian colour. As an example, Humbrol XX might be a perfect match for a certain Russian paint, but if that aircraft has been outside in the elements for a year or so, Model Master XX might be a better match. And maybe a certain Russian colour is matched by paint from different model paint manufacturers, so it is
  17. Apparently the first MFs were received by Cuba in 1971. In that year, only GAZ-30 built the MiG-21MF meaning the 'Fighter-Bomber' version (Eduard made that designation up). However, it might be later MiG-21MFs received by the Cubans (1974-1975) were built by GAZ-21, so 'Interceptor'. Safe choice would be 'Fighter-Bomber', with a bort number between 510 - 520.
  18. Wow, she really suffered; being outside all those years in the rain and the burning Hungarian sun! Nice to know she is in good hands now ๐Ÿ™‚
  19. Which one are you working on Gabor, the F-13 at Budaors?
  20. Well, I have been constantly nagging on this forum because I want my Eduard MiG-21UM (in both 1/48 and 1/72). Just look at how many airforces flew this bird and in how many different colour schemes and markings she appeared. That alone should keep me busy for the rest of my modelling career, no WWI or WWII needed ๐Ÿ™‚ Now fast forward to the F-35, and although many air forces are already operating it and more will be added to the list, the variety in colour schemes is rather non-existent. Yet, some of the mainstream kit producer dove on to the subject, and more will follow in the fut
  21. I have the Aires set and a Prowler, but in the stash. Like I said earlier, Aires cockpits are a bit notorious for being a tad oversized, so they'll need thinning to fit. They do look great though!
