  1. I havent posted in an infinity, but here goes. I am working on an Arii Corsair, to shake off the cross-eyedness of rescribing most of left wingtips scribed if we could get some propeller clearance, we might be onto something with those radials...
  2. I went scavenging in my P-61 today and wow... the engine just dropped into the cowl as a replacement. granted, I have to insert a 1/2 inch spacer with wood to get it to sit properly, but it is a heck of a lot better and accurate than the Arii one. In the P-61, I got two versions, one with two full rows of radials and another with one full row and one half row. I'm using the one full one half right now, because if I used the 2 fulls, I would need to do some serious cutting, and I plan on saving the well-detailed engine for something else. maybe I'll start a build thread right here...
  3. Would the RM P-61 engine fit into where the Arii engine is supposed to go? I don't care for accuracy, because I picked up the corsair 1A model as a quick getaway from all the scribing I'm combining the Arii tailwheel mount with Academy's F4U-4 tailwheel, and if I can, I'm going to saw off the engine on my trashed P-61 and stick it on the corsair
  4. <_< nice pull that's what I do when I go to korea. I raid toystores (amazingly, they carry those) and buy Academy stuff for really cheap. For example, I bought the full interior tiger for $16
  5. It all depends on the kit. For example, revell monogram might have a step on their wing halves requiring a lot of sanding, and tamiya or hasegawa shake-n-bake kits may have no seams whatsoever. There is not really a way that you can do it perfectly the first time, because even if the fit is seamless, some molten styrene will ooze out in the seams, requiring some sanding. as for rendering it invisible, i would recomment scouring with a hobby knife lightly, and when the heaviest parts of the seams are smoothed down somewhat, you can fill and sand or just sand. Masking details off with tape ca
  6. excellent job! looks like a masterpiece... not a test bed one thing though... the antenna cord thing shouldn't be tight when the canopy is open...
  7. forgive me if this questions has already been asked a few thousand times... are there free alternatives to the required software? I would love to start, but I would love to increase my stash as well (seeing that I only have three models in the "stash")
  8. thanks for looking?!?! NUTS! THANKS FOR POSTING!!! amazing build if you ask me
  9. Very nice! that's an interesting camo for an F-15... maybe I should do that on my SR-71... hmmmm
  10. thanks Randy! I just got this silly notion while I was in the middle of scribing... what if I painted it like an F-15? the blobs on the wings and tails... and then I could paint one rudder black, because switching rudders weren't all that uncommon... hmmm... something to think about
  11. thanks a bunch guys. Today, I finished the right lower engine pod section and I am moving on to the wingtips... AAAAHHH!!! blasted panel lines. they aren't even symmetrical on the right and left tips. I'm gonna build a template of some sort, cos there is no way I am freehanding that thing.
  12. Holy lord! Masking hell is right! WOW...
  13. Thanks guys! I am a Korean residing in the U.S. that might explain my English I am currently scribing the rear lower half of the fuse... BLASTED LITTLE LINES!!!! especially along the edges of the wings... pics will come soon.
  14. ok cool! a korean bird! looking forward to seeing build pics :D
  15. I build very slowly, but the pictures were copied and pasted from FSM forums :D
