I'll begin with a little intro about myself... I am a scale modeller, just like you, who was tired of the limited selection of resin accessories in 1/72nd scale, especially with modern-era subjects. I have been a proud member of the IPMS/USA Indianapolis Roscoe Turner Chapter, and have won many Best of Class, First, Second, Third place awards in the 1/72 Jet category: including the IPMS/USA Region 4, 2003 Convention. I have had models featured in Fine Scale Modeller Magazine and several articles published on ARC (The Aircraft Resource Centre) featuring my latest creations. I started Modern Hobbies in April 2008 and I am the sole proprietor, manager and owner. My goal here at Modern Hobbies is to provide fellow 1/72nd scale modern-era aircraft modellers with good, quality resin accessories that you actually want, AND that no other manufacturers will do in our scale.

RESIN CASTING

Over the years I learned the value and fun of resin casting for scale modelling. Instead of out sourcing, I realized that I could make my own accessories to improve my modern jets. After perfecting my skills I was no longer robbing my spares box for parts and began creating items not available anywhere in 1/72nd scale. I use slow setting, ultra-thin viscosity polyurethane resin by Smooth-On. I utilize the latest in resin casting supplies and methods including; vacuum and pressure-casting. My accessories are tough too, and not brittle like other after-market examples. My production process yields bubble-free parts.
