  1. Is the Italerie 1/48 B25 something new or is it a rebox of the Accurate Minatures kit?
  2. Building the Hasagawa F 18 C Hornet, got everything together ,nice kit went together well, and have got started with the decaling the problem is that all the standard markings, national insignia, warning signs etc., are a olive green instead of the dark grey that I would have expected. Do I have a bum set of decals or is this accurate?. Regards
  3. I am building a U S Navy F 18 C ,Hasagawa instuctions clearly show a strong difference between the upper and lower grey tone, but almost every photo seems to show little or no difference between the two colours. Is this paint fade or are they now being painted in a single tone?. Regards
  4. No body caught it but of course this is an RF4-B not a C.I have built a number of Hasagwa Phantoms and this is the first one that has given me so much trouble I think a lot of it can be put down to the Aires update. Thanks to all of you that took the time to reply Regards
  5. In the midst of building the Hasagawa 1/48 RF4C,about the worst Hasagwa kit I have ever built. The fuselage was warped meaning the panel lines do not line up,the engraved detail on the upper fuselage was almost gone and of course did not line up.To make things worse I bought the quite expensive Aires resin update kit for this model,it states on the box this was designed to fit the RF4C kit,but I almost wore out my Dremel tool trying to make the SOB fit, this is of course made even worse by the lack of instuctions. To get back to Hasagawas Phantom, could it be that the mouldings are so old t
  6. I have just about finished the Eduard kit of the Mirage 2000C,warped fuselage warped wings, but after a lot of filing, filling and cursing it is beginnig to look the real thing. My question is,about the dark colour of the Armee de la Aire camo, the colour given in the instruction sheet is Gunze H42 which appears to be way too dark?.Photos I have seem to vary between a light pastel blue to a almost US Navy medium blue. Does anyone have a correct colour reference?. Regards
  7. Another tip for rigging material,go to your local hardwear store and checkout the brooms there is usually a large selection and you can always find one with the right thickness, lenth,to fulfill your rigging needs.Use the rest to sweep up the plastic filings from the modelling room floor. Regards
  8. Thanks Dave ,that made it a hell of a lot clearer, now I have one more question,if you wear off the paint in the cockpit area, aluminum, does does zinc chromate show through or just bare metal. Regards
  9. Has anyone out built this kit?.It is like all Accurate Minature kits very good great details, nice mouldings but the instructions are a bit vague.I have got the cockpit together, but for the life of me cannot figure out where part 52 is supposed to go.Can anyone out there help. Regards
  10. Great Builds,I see you got the bomb aiming panel and the mudguards in the right position. Again, nice work. Regards
  11. Agree about Tamiya AS-12 Bare metal silver, but it seems to have dissapeared her in Europe.Even Hannants do not list it anymore.Any idea why?. Regards
  12. 50s jets, the complete US 100 series in 1/48, without raised panel lines. Regards
  13. Thanks for the responses,Matt that is a very interesting question,I for instance can live with the slighly bulbous nose and the slightlylarge fin of the Academy Hunter but not with the cockpit and undercarriage errors of the same kit.I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is a very subjective and individual decision.Again thanks Regards
  14. What do I need to know/buy?, to build a decent model from this kit. Regards
  15. Help, does have any tips on fitting the cockpit set, including the side panels, into the seemingly too small hole?. Regards
