  1. from memory, only the jag's had the wraparound scheme at that time. they too had winter blotches applied. the GR.3's were a bit different. they had some in wraparound scheme's, depending on the time. they also deployed in winter blotches. I am quite certain that I have a pic or 2 of one of these harriers in a book somewhere, will have a look later on. EDIT: I think all GR3's had wraparound?
  2. Hi, as the title says, looking for the complete decal set for the lucy pinder GR7 harrier decals. I know they came on a model alliance sheet, but that sheet new is unavailable now. so if someone has used michelle, but hasn't used lucy, let me know. I am in need of all decals for that aircraft, serial numbers, etc, as well as the nose art. also, less important, but would love to see her with a full load, so the pod they carried and some LGB's in 1/48th wouldn't go astray. also, I am from australia, and know shipping costs are prohibitive, but am quite desperate, so willing to pay whatever th
  3. i stumbled across a 1/48 Itealeri Mrage IIIE 40th anniversary kit, a fujimi 1/48 Mirage IIIC, an academy Mirage IIIR in 1/48 AND a 1/72 hobbycraft Yak-38! i nearly had a heart attcak seeing all these kits I've wanted for years appearing on the shelf! apparently the model store owner managed to "score" them from a liquidation sale of another hobby shop. THANK YOU Mrs. Hobby shop lady!!! :)
  4. Hi, just came across this pic as i am doing some research for my 2 seater IIIB I am starting. would really love to model this, as it will fit in with my last mirage IIIE i have almost finished!
  5. damn that's tempting! whats the Su-22m4 like? engraved panel lines, etc? if i buy this it will bring me up to 5 Su-24's!
  6. Hi, need to build an Israeli Mirgae IIICJ to complement all my French Mirage's, and am in need of a few decals in 1/48 to make things happen. I really only need everything bar the star of David decals, but more of them will most certainly come in handy! ultimately, I woul dlike to build 177 as it was in 1979 (without ident. triangles) but will be happy with any Israeli decals i can get my hands on! I'm not fussy!
  7. YES!!!!!!! i will happily pay that for a sheet for a sue! have you got a link so i can see the arctic sheet??
  8. sorry to hear, I, as would all of us, know how frustrating this is! :) i second getting an airbrush, takes a bit of playing around, but works wonders! and now might be a good time to buy some desert pink and make it a gulf war tornado! dont bin it, please! EDIT: just read what version it is. maybe a balkans tornado perhaps...
  9. yeah, I was originally going to do the desert storm A-6, but due to not being able to find a sheet of decals to do it with, have decided against it. that scheme applied during desert storm really suited the intruder IMHO, especially as it weathered very quickly! :) I do like the last one of the have blue. dont understand the 2 tone underside, but I think thats why I like it so much, it is strange! could look decent on a U2. thanks for all the help with this too, I have never done a WHIF before, and wanted it to be something at least a bit believable.
  10. ah, thats the one! i remember it as being lighter, but obviously wrong. hmmm... I do like that scheme. yeah, I would have to agree with you on the A6. and I already have the paints for the f16 scheme, so the lighter scheme it is! now, how should it be applied to an A6? just paint it and go with the flow, or should i try and get a mock up first on paper? (yeah, and israeli prowler would be unreal, I have an old hasegawa kit somewhere, so if the A6 goes OK, I know what will look good next to it.:D
  11. not sure which era to base my colours on with the A-6 though. early, like the mirage III or F-4, or late, like the f-16? as for the U-2, that idea sounds pretty damn good! i remember seeing an F-117 in colours very similar to the israeli schemes, but lightened and more grey, with only a very light green. anyone know where that pic came from? the have blue scheme looks great too. I was going to go all out crazy with this U-2 and make it a sort of battlefield surveillance type, hence the israeli 3 tone. maybe chuck some sidewinders on it and a whole heap of other aerials and whatnot?
  12. hey, as a break from my 1/48 building, i am thinking of finishing my a6 as well as starting my airfix U2. both in 1/72. Im not much of a fan of the all over grey jets, and think a colourful u2 would look good, so am thinking of finishing them both in an israeli colour scheme. just wanted to know if anyone had some top and side view drawings of these aircraft on their PC who could do a bit of a mock up, as I have no idea where to start in making up a camouflage pattern. also, what do you reckon about having a cammed U2A? maybe needs a more intricate earthy colour scheme, or would a multi to
  13. hey, at least if you buy the italeri kit you dont need to to rescribe the panel lines!
  14. yep, spot on motty! whole aircraft was most certainly gloss all over, something I completely failed to mention! and excellent info on the radome, I didn't know that one.
