Great job! Which of your aftermarket goodies do you think are essential to the build? John -
Thanks Guys! I think that I am going to try the post shading method with pastels. I really liked your F-86F and Hornet, Steve. The Hornet has the finish that I am looking for. JB

I'm starting to build the Academy F-16CJ 1/72 scale and I was wondering if it is worth preshading the plane. I have an Iwata Revolution Cr and am just getting the hang of it. I wonder whether it is possible to preshade a plane this small with this brush. Can you give me some hints on shading a 1/72 jet? I'd appreciate any help with this. Thanks, JB

Hi Everyone, I'm building my first 1/48 aircraft -- the Academy P-40B/C in the Flying Tigers scheme. Its a two tone camo on top with gray on the bottom. I have my airbrush and MM acrylics ready to go. My questions are: 1. In what order do I paint the plane? Do I paint the bottom gray first and the the camo on top? Or the other way around? Its a soft edge camo, BTW. I'm plan on using the slightly-raised-cardstock masking technique. 2. If I paint the gray first do I mask off the bottom when I paint the camo on top? How do I get the clean demarcation between the top and bottom of the

Hi Guys, I'm building my first 1/48 scale plane -- a Academy P-40 Tomahawk. I usually build 1/72 scale, but I have new airbrush and I want to try my first camo pattern. Usually on the 1/72 builds I don't worry about painting the inside of the canopy frame, but on this one, I think that it will look odd if I don't. I plan on attaching the canopy in the closed position before I paint. However, I would like to paint the inside frame before I attach it with 5 min epoxy. (I plan on masking the outside frame with either an Eduard mask -- not sure if they make one for this kit -- or BMF.) The

General Consensus on Model Master Acrylics?

How much do you guys thin MM Acryl for airbrushing? What do you use, besides their own thinner? JB -
Is this an M48A3 and are those kit decals? Thanks, JB

Great job on this tank. Which Tamiya kit is this? JB

Just wonderin' Thanks, JB

Hey guys, This is only my second helicopter build. I got the 1/72 Italeri UH-1B and I'm wondering how I should paint the body. Should I assemble the body, install the glass, mask the glass and then spray it? Or, should I paint the fuselage separately and them assemble the pieces and install the glass? Also, are there aftermarket masks for the windows on this model? Any help is appreciated. John B

Darn! This was supposed to go in the helicopter forum! JB

Hi, Just wondering what you guys consider to be the best cockpit kit kit (either resin or photoetch) for my first 1/48 plane, a Tamiya P-51D. Thanks, JB
