  1. Nice clean build Raymont. Now I’m even more impatient for the arrival of my two-mmmmm- perhaps I need three...
  2. The Kinetic inner doors should be closed NOT open these are a tad oversized however a few swipes with a sanding stick will fix it – no big drama. And yes I have built it.
  3. Awesome! Yet another one I'm looking forward to, thanks Raymond. Re: "shape of the Alpha is quite complex" that’s the understatement of the year! The Alpha has probably has one of the most difficult shapes that any kit manufacturer could take on. I'm in for a couple.
  4. *cough,cough!* dont you mean a CF-116D *cough,cough!* ? (c:#*
  5. The CF-5A photo nose was "interchangeable" (but not I'm told on all airframes) with the standard nose however when camo patterns changed the nose wasn't always repainted in the new patern so variation do occur wich makes for some interesting looking aircraft.
  6. Holand and Norway both used the Canadian licensed built CF-116 and Venezuela and Botswana(!) use(d) surplus airframes The USA also had CF-5A's in South Vietnam as part of the "Skoshi Tiger" program. I dont for sure if any of the above ever got recon noses. You might want to check out more on those airfoces if you want an alternatives to CAF/RCAF.
  7. I was in the store on Saturday (the place was a madhouse!) Rick says RF-5A nose is NOT oop he still has stock he just forgot to redo his eBay posting! You can contact Rick at unclebills@shaw.ca he’ll get what you need off to you.
  8. In progress shot (masks still on photo windows)of a friend RF-5A using "The Major" photo nose no sanding no filling used -
  9. Pardon my repetitiveness but I do NOT mean to be pedantic however there is indeed a difference between taking ownership and something being delivered - FYI sic “delivered” is in fact a great word meaning "delivered". Ownership can, and often does, mean that the item belongs to you someone however that does NOT mean that the item has been completed as per their requirements i.e. further work may be required prior to the actual delivery. Re “Please enlighten me on how that comment/question contributed anything to the original question, which had to do with how the aircraft looked when it was
  10. Not trying to be pedantic here but, delivery would not occur until the aircraft was in Canada, therefor the event at Mcair would more likely be considered a handover and not a delivery?
  11. Tamiya #1 is a good build without much help other than a new seat. Kinetic #2 I've also put together a couple of times again a new seat and its OK OOB. Hasegawa #25 No thats not a typo, I have tried twice to build the Hasegawa kit and its ended in the bin both times. The Eduard kit has a load of enhancemens for the Kinetic kit and this review sure makes it look very nice. http://www.hyperscale.com/2013/galleries/f16a48mb_1.htm
  12. A friend showed me "Furball" first set of decals for the Phantom. They looked great very nice colour registration with vibrant tones the placement sheet will be instantly recognised by anyone who's seen Afterburner format. I'd say a must have for early Phantom Phans http://www.furballaero-design.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=48%2D006
  13. Alpha test casting will be ready in the next 2 weeks or so (decals will probably Belgian German and Top Ace's - my guess NOT inside information!)then the CP-121 Tracker. It looks like the Hornet (at least in 1/48 tra la la la la la la la...) might be a little while yet. Sneek a peek at the Tracker PLEASE NOTE TEST CASTINGS only
  14. Well strictly speaking the master for the Tutor where not made by Uncle Bills but they where released by them. I think they are available again. My review of those interested can be found here- http://acc.kitreview.com/ct114upgradets_1.htm I digres, the resin nose from eBay is indeed the Photo Recon nose that I was referring to. I picked one up today, I also saw it attached to a Kinetic CF-5A and the fit was spot on, the casting itself is very nice being both sharp and very clear. "The Major" brand is Uncle Bills own brand and it contains some great items for updating CAF/RCAF aircr
  15. kinetic 1/32 Hawk 100 now "In Stock" at Lucky. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=KI-K3206 I recieved word today that my order has been shipped-I'll be pacing the floor till they get here!
  16. There is an aftermarket nose in the pipeline cast in clear resin, it looks good, I'll post more when its released.
  17. A Top Aces (and a RAF Alpha) would be on my wish list as well. Re "...and you make that clear to him!" - I'm sure that YOU just did!
  18. If you want a colourful Alpha Skyart Decals do a first class job- http://www.syhartdecal.fr/references.php?lang=ENG&ref=48/72-066&page=description
  19. That’s an interesting thought however in 1/48 it would be quite large and I'd imagine also quite expensive to mould. As I’ve ridden in it a couple of Times (in the office jump seat once) in the "heavies" department I'd like to see a CC-150 Polaris but I'd settle for it in 1/72 Scale to save shelf space.
  20. I have to agree with mawz that, at least for just, now the Academy Hornet is the best out there. This was one of the easiest builds I have ever done as other than minor fit issues in closing the undercarriage doors the kit just fell together. Built wheels down, the undercarriage legs needs to be angled out a bit, and the re-enforcing plates on the vertical stabs need a little work as the ones on the starboard side need to be removed as these are found on the port side only. My "Legacy"(non upgraded)CAF CF-188 as flown by Guns when she made the first ever Hornet/Bear intercept by a f
  21. I have always been a big fan of the Hawk too and its predecessor the Gnat - I'd love an all new 1/48 or 1/32 kit of the Gnat. I have seen the Revell kit and they did a good job on that one, it look very nice, I'm holding off till the "standard" RAF version comes out (Revell news letter suggests it will be sometime in the next 3/4 months) before I get it, it will make a nice companion piece for my Kinetic Hawks.
  22. See: http://www.cybermodeler.com/special/2012_acft_manuf.shtml As you can see both the CF-188, Tracker have been announced for this year. I haven’t seen anything for the Hornet as yet but I have very high hopes for it as I do know some of those who had input on the preproduction side of things. I have seen some of the preproduction parts of a test cast for the Tracker and I liked what I saw modified fuselage with a new tail and the nice panel lines looked good. The Alpha Jet has never seen CAF/RCAF service as part of their inventory however it has been flown by CAF/RCAF pilot
  23. Official images now posted on the Lucky Model web page. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=KI-K3206 For some reason these contain images of masks for a German AFV – probably these will not be included with the Hawk! The decal sheet looks nice from it, it looks like the UAE Hawk has been dropped from this release, however the RAF, RAAF and RCAF are there as well as a good selection of stencil markings. As promised there is a fret of PE parts that should cover the basic needs to jazz up the interior as well as a couple of external grills that will be beneficial to the looks
  24. As an oob build the Kinetic Mirage 2000's are arguably the best out there. I have seen and handled test casting for the Hawk (the casting was pre production and the moulds were destined for one more round of tweaking) a friend built the casting and based on that it is my opinion that the Hawk is probably the best kit from Kinetic to date. I’m sure that the usual “critics/experts†will indulge themselves their self gratifying mudslinging but I think that most modelers should find the Hawk to be a very nice kit and a real bargain at Kinetics selling price. My Airfix 1/72 419 squ
