  1. I shall be watching this, your other F4s and it is nice selction look great!! Once complete with the RF4 they will look great together
  2. How about a Flybe Dash 8 Q400, cos that is what I fly.
  3. I have not modelled for a number of years, but after looking at this site I got my stuff out of the loft and a new model and started to have a go again. But the finish that you guys get with the airbrushes put me off a bit, I use brushes see, so I put the kit away and started saving, but this kit here has inspired me again - I have got the kit out and am now going to finish this one off, with the brushes. Your finish on that mustang is fantastic - well done, an inspiration!
  4. London Airways.....yep that's them. Well the deal is done now, so I can look forward to going onto the Q400. Better get on with a 300 model before they have all gone from the fleet.
  5. Nothing to do with the fleet, it was to do with the wrong parent, a parent that was only interested in the Heathrow slots and then did not invest. Takeover still on hold till Monday. Just back from a Manchester to Southampton trip - easy day.
  6. The 146s will soldier on for a while as part of the new company FlyBe, from Manchester, but the plan is to retire them as soon as and replace with the Q400 / 195. The RJ100's all go to Edinburgh as part of a new company, a subsidiary of BA, called Cityflier. These operate the London City routes and one or two others, how long for I do not know, but it is going to be a seperate co with many of the BA Connect managers in place (so good luck to em).
  7. We hand fly quite a bit, sometimes cos we want to and sometimes cos we have to. We also have one or two Salad dodgers in the back but not too many. You get used to trimming in yaw all the time, but pitch is very stable. I am plodding on with the Phantom, but I need to get some new paints and tools etc which is slowing up progress to be honest. I used to brush paint but I am real keen to get into airbrushing as the finish is fantastic - better start saving.
  8. I fly the Q300 for BA Connect, who are being purchased by FlyBe as we speak. The plan is to get rid of the Q300s through the summer and then we convert onto the Q400 once FlyBe have purchased, expected to be this week for completion. I have got the old modelling stuff out again and started on a Revell FGR2 Phantom. But most of my old stuff needs replacing so steady progress at the minute, but enjoying it none the less. Will try a Dash 8 Build once I have a couple of more familiar kits done.
  9. Thanks again for all your replies, looks like mixed opinions on the Dash. I might start, as I said earlier, with a more familiar kit, just to get the ball rolling again and the juices flowing so to speak before embarking on a Dash. But I reckon I will give one a bash, just cos I fly em. They are not the most popular aircraft with photographers etc but they are fantastic aircraft to fly, and I am amazed at how well it handles cross winds - a fine aircraft. Nice looking Dash by the way, Resinbuilder.
  10. Thanks for your replies. hmm sounds like the Dash 8 might be a model too far to start with. I might go for a Hasegawa F4 (I know these best) and then work up to the 'love boat'
  11. Great, at last I have found a thread about the Dash 8. I have not modelled for about 10 years and I am thinking about starting again. My primary interest with respect to modelling would be military jets, but I have been thinking about starting again with a Dash 8. I currently fly them, the Q300, soon to be Q400, in the uk. I have looked for kits and I can find what look like 1/72 (this scale is fine) Dash 8 - 100, these are too short. Is there a 300 model out there?
  12. Great looking Marauder, looking forward to seeing it finished. I have not modelled for about 10 years or more now, but thinking about getting back into it. This kind of work, and much of the stuff on this site is really inspiring.
