He "helped" them by buying bulk at a price they were comfortable with and spared them weeks/months of cataloging and packaging while dealing with their grief and tying up the deceased's other affairs. With 1200 kits - some almost 50 years old - a few are going to be over-priced, and some will be under-priced. I recently was able to help out a local family and I purchased a large 1200+ kit collection from their family member's estate. The Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame in Westkiwin has one. It's painted in the Lynx colourbird scheme but caution: I've been told that this particular plane was not part of the squadron and that the paintjob is a half-hearted copy of the original and not accurate. Agreed - all too often the sentiment is "well someone else is doing it" when it should be "we'll do what we can, even if it isn't a complete solution to the problem..." As much as I hate to see an airplane demolished, not every one of them will find a home. Keeping a plane in viewable condition (never mind flyable) isn't cheap and home-town museums often can't afford the one or two they have on pylons already. Which is more sad - seeing a plane demolished or seeing a 30 year old warbird rotting away in a town square, covered with poop, canopy crazing from heat, and rust smears around rivets

"Wrong Way" Corrigan??? Not a crash, but a great example of not getting where you intended to go. Way "back in the day" when Canada was to receive its first F-18 Hornet "all weather" fighters, the ceremony in the capital had to be delayed a day because of rain. Probably more the politicians didn't want to get wet, but the F-18 took a bath in the press over the delay. Use a Mac OS on the Raptor? Same here, worked great. If any silver gets stuck in small crevises just lightly scrub with a toothbrush. Julien: it should work with any "metal" plated plastic model. WB

You can have the best of both worlds with that big compressor if you have an attached garage. Just put the compressor in the garage and run an air line into your basement. Leave the regulator on it set for the highest PSI you'll ever use for modeling (say, 30 or 40), and put a second regulator beside your spray booth. That way you can control the pressure at your booth, the compressor will always provide your minimum airbrushing pressure, and the sound won't bother you. WB

I don't know how the fast-movers do it considering the huge distances and high closing speeds. Flying smaller stuff down low, I spot other aircraft by scanning for things that don't fit in - even a very tiny speck jumps out when it's not moving with the same relative direction/speed as the background sky or ground. The biggest risk is traffic on a collision course since it maintains its relative position in the windshield. As volzj said, home flight simulators do a poor job of presenting airborne traffic. WB
