Boxes open but parts bags sealed. One is missing vf-101 decals, other is complete.
  2. comes with a small mouth intake. can make a block 25/32, or early block 30
  3. ive used it with mixed results. some dry harder than others. as long as its not a small, complex part you should be ok.
  4. let me go count my mountain home sheets, might have one i can let go.
  5. just test fit and sand. builds into a decent kit, just take your time. i have been using the hasegawa small mouth intake to replace their kit intake. also, if you have access to a hasegawa kit, the cockpit fits right into the academy kit. then put the aftermarket pit into the hasegawa.
  6. i remember hearing that the winglets help reduce the vortices created by the wingtip, and that any fuel savings was a bonus. thought they were originally developed to reduce the wake turbulence, to make it safer for the trailing aircraft, specifically on takeoff and landings, and they got popular when airlines found they also saved money on fuel. less turbulence=less drag, as it was once explained to me.
  7. just look at what twobobs is doing with their buckeye release. you buy their kit, then twomikes will sel a seperate resin kit with the updated goodies. just as bob explained, not everyone is concerned with all of the details, the ones that are will pay for the resin. the ones that aren't will just be happy with the kit. the kit companies know that there is a good mass of people that will not buy a particular kit if their is no more detailed set to improve the areas that are lacking. they also know that if they actually spent the time to make their cockpit available in the kit a good one i
  8. thought i had read somewhere that the small vent by the ejection triangle was a vent for the gun that was opened while it was on the ground. could be wrong, but pretty sure it iis mentioned in jake's book.
  9. do 1/48, only because most good decals are not getting done in 1/72'nd scale.
  10. not to say anything bad about any decal manufacturer, but always get pics of the real aircraft you are doing. do not always assume that the decal manufacturers stencil guide are correct. even if the decal manufacturer pulls the stencil placement out of the actual military issue paint guide, it does not mean it was followed on the real thing.
