  1. I don't suppose anybody would have one of the above in the spares box at all?
  2. Good morning to all out there. Would anyone out there happen to have any spare 32nd scale pilot figures they have no need of? I dont mind which kits they've come from, merely I'd prefer stood but can attempt reshaping seated.
  3. So far, attempts to mix UK desert DPM have been mildly successful. Using a base of gold ochre mixed with a pinch of raw umber and lightened has managed to produce both shades of the basic two colours, obviously dividing the mixture into two and adding a whole heap of white to the second mix to create the lighter base colour. It's still very much a work in progress as I don't have a massive understanding of the ways in which one colour would affect another when mixed, I'm learning as I go having never worked with oils before.
  4. Any tips from you Guy are gems of wisdom. Your results show that buddy, the figures are being stripped and prepped for an attempt at oils. Not sure how to mix up the UK desert DPM colours yet but I'm experimenting with them all the time. Lots of old seated pilots floating around to use as guinea pigs.
  5. Morning to one 'n' all. I'm starting to plan the base and figure positioning for my Lynx dio' which can be found searching back through this forum. I've never painted figures to any reasonable standard apart from the usual seated jet drivers. I have a process in mind which will see me using oil paint for hand mixed colours. I've read about the light and shadow tricks and I thought is it as simple as positioning the figure under a light source and painting the highlights and shadows where they fall from the lighting. Flesh presents a whole new dilema as I've only every used either Citadel
  6. That was about what I was thinking. I reckoned I'd have to go down the cotton wool route, wasn't too sure if it'd work in 32nd scale but will give it a go. What's to lose? A small amount of cotton woll from SWMBOs beauty stash
  7. Good evening to one and all. I have the beginnings of a dio' I'd like to do now the revell 1/32 Hawk is on our shelves. The idea is to have the synchro pair in a crossover on some clear rods on which i hope to recreate some coloured smoke, My question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the most realistic looking smoke possible and use that to wrap the rods which will be secured to the exhaust thus the rods being the smoke trails
  8. Good afternoon to you all. After the success of my Kilimanjaro climb in aid of Breast cancer campaign which raised just shy of £3000. I have turned my attention to this years charity fundrasing events. I need a little help from someone out there in cyberland. Are there any current or recently retired RAF fast jet aircrew among us? I have a daft idea and need to ask a small favour. PM me for details. Thanks in advance. My recent adventures Kili' climb (113)
  9. Just a few more, some of the more awe inspiring sights to be seen from +5000m. There's something surreal about eating you breakfast outdoors, it's around -5 degrees and its like looking out of an airliner window, clouds below you. 10. There's loads but I didn't wanna clog the forums up with masses of pics, the link at the bottom of the original post will take you to the album which catalogues my trip. I'll quite happily post a couple more if people wanna see em
  11. Hi guys, its been a while since I posted. Work hassles and a couple of kits completed (finally). I thought I'd stop by with a piccy from my latest global adventures. One of my crazier plans but all done in aid of A Uk based breast cancer charity. Kili' climb (113) by BigPeteUK2010, on Flickr
  12. Thanks for the kind words, and I'm not asking for any particular price, as long as its sensible and the money goes to charity.
  13. Morning all I have a Tamiya Lanc' Id like to see go to a good home, Its the BIII dambuster/grand slam version. All parts are accounted for, I've opened the bags and checked. I'm raising money for Breast cancer campaign and all proceeds of the sale will go there so dig deep :P PM me if interested
  14. Hi all, Could I bump this one up to the top, my climb is fast approaching and I need to raise all the funds possible for this fantastic charity. It's all the more poignant as recently a work colleague of mine has recently been diagnosed with Breast cancer and I'm hoping to raise big money and raise awareness all the more.
