  1. Wow, spectacular! Great work on the surgery too; very proficiently handled. Kev
  2. Was great seeing this 'in the plastic' at Expo recently mate, and it looks great here too. Once again, congrats on a fabulous model and a well-deserved second place. Kev
  3. Thanks Matt! I appreciate your kind words. Kev
  4. Howdy folks, I finally got a chance to take some glamour shots of my recently finished Fw 190D-11 conversion (build thread), and they turned out OK. So, in no particular order, here they are: Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoy the photos! Kev
  5. Wow, this is a gorgeous little build! Love it. Kev
  6. Thanks Jarrod. It's finished now, and I'll be taking it out to the comp this morning. It's not a real contender, but I don't build for comps anyway. Taking a couple of airliners too. Kev
  7. Just trying to finish up a mongrel build for Expo this weekend. Kev
  8. Jarrod, that is gorgeous! Kev
  9. Jarrod, beautiful model mate! I've always wanted to build this livery, but getting hold of decals is the main challenge. I take it this is the Dragon kit? Kev
  10. Wow, that is gorgeous! I love the base too. Kev
  11. Thanks for the info Steve. I had several attempts at fixing the issue, including scratch-building a new pipe assembly, but nothing worked to my satisfaction, so I gave up. I should drag it out again and see what I can do. Thanks for the inspiration! Kev
  12. Lovely build Steve! I really like it. I'm going to build mine as 'Glamorous Glennis' though. Tell me, how did you deal with the dramatically undersized rocket exhaust pipes? Mine just kind of rattle around out the back, with quite a large gap all the way around them when centered in the fuselage. That problem has stalled my build for a couple of years now. I've never seen anyone else complain about this, including yourself in your build here. Perhaps I have a dud? Kev
  13. I realise Dylan's after a reliable retailer to procure various airliner decals from, but I just wanted to throw Hawkeye Models Australia into the mix if you like Aussie liveries. Kev
  14. I've read through this thread, and I don't see any mention anywhere of who actually manufactures the this kit! Moebius? Kev
  15. Wow, that's a great-looking build! I wasn't aware this kit existed, but will be on the lookout for one now. Kev
  16. Yeah, I couldn't even tell you which aircraft this was to be honest, but obviously either an A320 or a B777 (probably the latter). Kev
  17. Wow, that's beautiful! I can't believe it hasn't had more comments. Kev
  18. I saw an aircraft in this scheme coming in to land at Tullamarine over the weekend. It was a spectacular sight, as we were walking through a local park, and suddenly it appeared above the treeline on its descent, just above the horizon. I was way too slow to snap a photo, unfortunately. I'm inspired to build one myself now! Kev
  19. Very nice! I really like the comparison shot with the 737 too. Gives a nice sense of the size of the Connie. Kev
  20. Yeah, I know what you mean. The Minicraft has nice surface details on the wings, but the fuselage is mostly featureless. This contributes to the 'too clean' look. It's also missing quite a few other details, as you point out. Mainly though, I like to build my airliners as AMS-free as possible, and I'm really mostly interested in the liveries. They're meant to be a bit of a modelling holiday for me, where I can get something done inside 2 or 3 weeks, instead of 2 or 3 years! Kev
  21. I've never built a vac kit, though I do own a small stash of them. Building one is on my modelling Bucket List, but the Welsh kits are unfortunately outside my budget for the time-being. Kev
  22. Thanks Jarrod! I'm now eying Welsh's 1/72 737 range with envious unaffordability... Kev
  23. Thanks Ray! Afraid not on the process pictures though. It was a pretty easy process however, as the internal geometry is pretty simple. Next time I undertake such a task, I promise to document it! Kev
