  1. Can you build a QF-4 from the Hase F-4EJ Kai? John
  2. Hey folks, anyone else hear about this? I did a search in the forums and nothing about him passing popped up, so I'm guessing it's news. John
  3. I'm going to have to give that gell stuff a try. I've got a couple water projects that have stalled because I don't want to stink up the house with the resin. Got a crashed Huey (either in a rice patty, or maybe with a waterfall going through it - saw a loach diorama like that somewhere), and I have a whiskey still that I'm needing to set up to get all my plastic figures drunk. LOL John
  4. You want me to build a red bull British Air Force? Keep it up buddy! LOL John
  5. Holy crap! Are they loosening up on this? Revell released a B-25 with the Flying Bulls markings. http://www.flevoaviationhobby.net/images/k...53/rev5753.html
  6. Hey folks, I know the red bull decals bit has been asked to death as far as anyone producing them. But, I was wondering if anyone has run across the markings on a site and printed them out themselves (already in the correct scale for various aircraft). I think that new Airfix Sea Vixen would look really cool in the Red Bull markings on my shelf. :) I really wish they'd let someone put out a sheet with every Red Bull plane on it. I know I'd pick one up and then try to build most of the fleet. John
  7. Do you have to order a certain amount for free shipping? i didn't see it anywhere on the site. John Found it. $100 is free shipping. scroll down. doh :D
  8. Very cool. I've been wanting to build one of these for a while, but $100 in aftermarket was trumping the idea. Hopefully we'll get some MRAP's also pretty soon. John
  9. You try something like that mister and we'll find you!!!
  10. Didn't know about this one. I'd say if you're not expecting insanely cool special effects or anything, it should be decent. I'd probably go. Plus PETA may be there to protest NASA. LOL Seriously, I just read that they're protesting the opening in Orlando. John
  11. I know cutting edge put some out, but has anyone else? Buffmaster over at Greatmodels only does the NB-52 markings and I'm wanting one of the camo birds from Vietnam. John
  12. But what if I put all of the aftermarket stuff in the original box, leave it there for a while and then build the kit "out of the box." I have a visible b-17 with the big ed set that's been sitting in the box for at least a year or so. What's the statute of limitations for how long it has to sit in the box to count? If in the box it will fit, you must acquit. John, Styrene Lawyer Esquire
  13. Just saw this over at squadron and greatmodels. I looked over at tower (since they usually include a pending date but they didn't have it listed). Going for about $55 on preorders. ;) John
  14. Not I. But, something you need to think about before feeling too shot down, you're asking mainly modelers that display plastic art. I know it sounds silly, but I'd go to one of those sword stores in the mall. They're filled with that sort of stuff and they seem to stay in business (who the heck is buying all these swords? LOL ). Something folks might buy: A guy I used to know was a machinist, and he used to turn regular lock blade Buck knives into switchblades. I have no idea of how to do something like that, but he was able to without adding anything (as far as extra width, etc) ot
  15. No worries. If the major breweries are taken out, we'll start an insurgency with the micro-breweries - the many headed hydra of beer! John
  16. Would you get in trouble if you mailed a 1/48 tomcat kit to Iran? John
  17. That is one of the coolest songs ever!!!!!!!!!!! I'm using it in my US history class this spring! LOL Honestly though, that war was hillarious. During the invasion of DC, several of the British soldiers got heat stroke chasing after the American retreat. And the reason that DC was able to be retaken by the Americans was because a hurricane/tornado storm blew up and scattered the British column. John
  18. $1 for everything else and you pay shipping. LOL Saw that line over on hyperscale so I thought I'd give it a try. John
  19. I do that alot. I've started replacing pitot tubes with a straight pin (dull the point though haha). Dab of super glue and it's there to stay. Might not be accurate, but it ain't coming off! John
  20. Did something like that during one of my lectures the other day. i said several times that Lincoln was killed in 1965 rather than 1865. John
  21. She's a doll. Whoever did her makeup is pretty good too. That safety pin deal looks real! And she makes it look like it hurts. Something to think about on the Lennon thing. The idea of hero is a big matter of perspective and what that person means to you individually. My dad is a hero to me, but he's not done anything that most of society would recognize as heroic. I just think that I "get him." To really boil this down, take Columbus. Most of us would laud him as a hero (he has his own freakin' day after all). Yet most Native Americans have a completely different opinion of h
  22. This one was indeed a D model. http://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/b-17/40-3089.html John
  23. I think that Miccara catches it for most people of that generation that are still hit by this. BTW, what the heck is your profile pic? If that's a pic of you, I'm scared of you. LOL If he was just "John from the Beatles" some folks would remember, but it wouldn't be what it is now. For example, Elivis and Tupac were basically just artists that died. Some people are into them still, but most of us think it's sad they died that way, but that's the extent of it. Lennon sort of used his fame from the Beatles as a springboard for bigger things. Without sounding too hokey, I think he was sor
  24. Hey folks, I just ran across this article and there's a change of plans for the b-17d that I just started. http://www.historynet.com/eddie-rickenback...cific-ocean.htm Anyone know of some pics of a transport b-17? I have some pics of the b-24 diamond lil before the CAF converted her. Would it be a similar setup for a b-17? John
