Hello All, A while back, I saw a manufacturer had posted here that he released a set of 1/48 E-2C decals that looked kind of like the VF-1 markings, except that they were blue., but I don't remember the manufacturer, or the squadron number. Can any help? Thanks, A T Lee

Hello everybody! Do any of you guys know if anybody makes an AM seated 1/24 replacement for any of the WWII US airplane, but specifically for the Thunderbolt. I want to motorize it so the engine is idling, but I want a decent pilot to fill the seat. My Landlord and neighbor flew tehm in WWII, and I wanted to build a tribute to him. Thanks, Anthony

I saw this on another site. I thought that it was here somewhere, but I couldn't find it: " 01/02/2010 We are curious too! We often wonder (and actually have hot debates about) what new kits we should bring to a trade show, and what modeling enthusiasts would like to see. We'll use a direct approach: we'll ask you. Here are two questions for everyone: 1) What kits (type and scale) you would like us to produce in the next future? 2)What are your three favorite kits currently in the Italeri catalog? Send your opinions and replies to: idea@italeri.com. The ideas we'll receive will be p

No...nobody post them? Hasegawa 1/48 F-22 Line jets finished photos
A T Lee replied to viperbite's topic in Jet Modeling
Thanks for the posts of the pics. I like the intake trunkings. Very nicely done. The thing that I would love to see if Hasegawa would separately sell the clear sprues. I think that is a clever way to engineer the canopy. I wish Academy had done similar. Of course, if anybody wanted to offload the extra Hasegawa canopy, shoot me a PM. Blazes, I would be open to trading the ordinance from my Academy model for one of those. I haven't heard anything of Alclad releasing color, but I know that Pat of Hawkeye Hobbies is working on and testing F-22 colors for the SNJ line. The initial testing -
Beautiful Aircraft, and wonderful model. Is this the same model that FSM did an article of in the November 2009 issue?

Real good thread on Nats judging over on HS
A T Lee replied to Jim Barr's topic in ARC At the 2009 Nats
Recently, I was watching "the Next Iron Chef" competition on the Food network, and the finalist that was chosen to be the Iron Chef was chosen not for his flair and gusto, but rather for his mastery of the basics. So, the Nats was not the only place where somebody won over the glitz an glitter of another competitor. -
I saw an article about this in an IPMS journal. Very impressive build. I hope that Trumpeter does the proper research. Like was stated earlier, I hope that they don't go for the complete interior, but rather, make sure the shown elements are correct. It sounds like that they did a good job with their F8F, maybe they will do the same with this kit.

To answer your earlier question, yes, RM does make a 1/48 PBY-5A and they just re-released it, so it is available. Once they made a PBY-5, but that was over 10 years ago. PBY-5A is better because it has a full crew. If you have AMS, there is a canadian company that makes a conversion for a PBY-6A, as well as a tail correction for the PBY-5A. (The only differences is the tail.) Scale Aircraft Conversions just released their metal landing gear replacements(highly recommended if you build the kit wheels down, as the kit is a little heavy). True details has a resin cockpit set that

I wouldn't mind getting a 1/48 HU-16, though I would prefer the B model, but the A could build into a neat kit.

Different systems of designations, mate. In WWII the letters took a totally different meaning. PBY-5 means the fifth version of the Patrol Bomber made by Consolidated Aircraft corporation. The A in PBY-5A stood for "Amphibious" e.g. the aircraft had landing gear. The PBY-5 was a pure flying boat, beaching gear was attached after the aircraft had landed. There was no PBY-5B. The next version was the PBY-6A. In the 60's the US Armed Forces changed the designation system to the one that we know now.

I second the motion (Especially the 1/48 P-3). Yes, the P-3 would be large kit, but there is already a 1/48 C-130 and a 1/48 B-1B in production, both large kits in their own right, and the latest trend of releasing kits in larger scales, so it is concievable to see that maybe a 1/48 P-3 or a P2V would be released. Hopefully the manufacturers see this. . .

Thanks EDWMatt, Thanks for all the leads. I have heard good things about Mastercasters, and look forward to seeing their components when they come out. I will look into the XS Models prop. It will be perfect for the racer that I want to build. The P-39 racers used the P-63 props. I suspect that you are right about the enventual release of the P-39Q. Thanks for all your help. ~A T Lee

Hey Guys! I recently posted that I was looking for Cutting Edge Intakes. Rodney came to my help with a set. He was very fair, fast, and a great person to deal with. Thanks Rodney!

I backordered their #1 issue, and they do charge a currency conversion.

Use your bathtub, fill it up with hot water. Soak the part for a few minutes, and then correct it. The hotter the better.I personally like to use the rubber dish gloves when I do this, and it give plenty of space and water to do what you need. If you have to, leave it empty enough so you can run more hot water over the part when you are correcting the wap.

Hey guys, This was from last week, but It's cool when a model you're working on makes the news: "The Alaska Air National Guard rescued four survivors of a Cessna 185 plane crash in Lake Clark National Park Thursday afternoon. The survivors suffered minor injuries and were taked to Alaska Regional Hospital, said Alaska Air National Guard spokesman McHugh Pierre. Their names were not immediately available late Thursday. Where the plane was going of coming from was going to or coming from was not immediately available. A FedEx Cargo plane first heard th

Hey Trigger, found a pics of what those parts are supposed to assemble. In the pic, it's the black vent just above the pilot's seat. Looks like it is a defroster/enviromental control unit. 01 I tell you what the MRC/Academy 1/35 H-60 needs for detailing is a detail set for the ceiling of the cabin. It's just a flat piece for the model, but if you look at the real thing, there is a lot going on. Fast Rope attachments that look like they are retractable to the interior, a whole panel that is missing, as well as cables and other details, like in the pics below: 02 03 04 All of
