  1. From what I have built, Tamiya F14. Perfect. Tamiya f16, almost perfect Meng f18e, very good Meng F4G, very very good GWH su27 flanker B. Superb. All required little to zero filler. Build quickly. Look good. Ideal for having FUN
  2. Would you possibly ship to New Zealand? Inhave always wanted to do an A6 with mines and you are the only person that does them. Cheerw Tom
  3. I notice you have an f14A pilot instrument coming. That single piece makes converting the tamiya D to a B so much easier!
  4. Thank you fornthe exceptionally detailed answer. It is fascinating reading. I would like to load more than just a TALD so I might save those for something else. What else was typically loaded when the intruder carried the AGM-65? Thank you all for your expertise. Tom
  5. Hi Collin, Cheers for the info on the TALD. I will trawl through some of the other A6 threads. When I created this thread a few years ago, you and GW gave me some great ideas and I ended up building the boomers CAG with a SUCAP load out. Hopefully I can find something else as interesting. Maybe a tacts pod or maverick or even some para flares could be cool.
  6. Hi everyone, I am planning to build another intruder again soon. Probably a jet from the 90s. I am wondering if the A6 was a TALD carrier? If it was what else would likely be loaded with it? Again I am looking for something interesting. I have TACTs pods, CBU, LGBs, mavericks, snakeyes, MK83 with conical fins, rocket pods etc in the stash. Please suggest something cool! Cheers Tom
  7. He says he never lost 1 v 1 to an f15. However bvr he said they are exceptional. Cheating is trying. The f15s at times would stack the odds so far in their favor he describes the exercise as the "f15 benefit concert". The ten percent true podcast is by far the best military aviation podcast in my opinion. Steve ask very insightful questions and has access to incredible guests. Paco Geisler for instance.
  8. Its always the man in the box. Every pilot should defend his community and airframe to the death. Listen to the latest Tug Wilson episodes. RAF guy on USMC f18 exchange. He has many great stories about the F15s and it doesn't exactly paint them as the Supreme machine.
  9. Looks great! I would love to see a 1/48 G4 super Galeb kit.
  10. Hi guys, I am wanting to build an F-4G 69-00247 from Nellis, 561st fighter squadron from 1994. Would they normally carry the ALQ 119 or 131 pod? What dictated what pod the aircraft carried? Am I correct in thinking European based aircraft carried the 131 pod? Cheers Tom
  11. No worries Steve, I agree about the markings. A history sheet of VF142 is greatly needed and so is one for VF33.
  12. Hi Steve I built the 1994 version from the furball jet as it was seen at the D Day celebrations in England. The photos I used show the jet does not have the RIOs step reinforcement plate. They came later on I believe. The detail and scale book has a nice photo of 162926 as a ghostrider and it definitely does not have the reinforcement plate at that time. Here is a link to a photo of 162926 AG200 Cheers Tom
  13. I am really happy to see another Bedeviller being built. They have been my favourite squadron since I built the itakeri kit as a kid 30 years ago. As everyone said. The A+ as it would have been called before May 1st 1991, had an A cockpit. Oddly it seemed as though VF74 painted over the ECM antennas until about 1993. I remember reading VF32 got told to remove the paint from them prior to desert storm. I guess 74 missed the memo. Her is my bedeviller from 1993 that I finished about a month ago. Posted to the ARC FB page https://m.facebook.com/groups/2155512
  14. Thanks Gene for your expert knowledge. I am wanting to have my F4g with the canopies open. I have two load out scenarios. Option #1, one training HARM, one training Maverick, one luggage pod, centerline tank. Potentially an airshow load out. Option #2 one centerline tank, ecm pod, 2 x mavericks, training load out. Either live mavericks or captive rounds. My skills are not good enough to install 7 seat pins in model form so i would like to use the red bag. So from this, what would be an accurate way to pose my F4G? Thank you
  15. So are you saying don't put RBF flags on the aircraft. Put the little red bag on top of the seat, canopies open with the aircraft ready to go? Thanks for all the magnificent information. Cheers Tom
  16. I do on the arc facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/groups/215551215532252/permalink/1260142014406495/?mibextid=Nif5oz I cant wait to see your ghistrider take shape. I must get some of your GE nozzles. They look really good!
  17. That ghost rider jet is an early B so it should not have the HUD. The RIOs screen is the round one not the square PTID. The RIOS boarding step did not have the reinforcement plate. Can't remember what else there is. The cool thing is that VF142 was dropping bombs at that time so you can put all sorts of cool MK80 series weapons and CBU. I put Mk82 snakeyes on mine.
  18. Looking forward to your ghostrider! I built the same jet a year or so ago with the tamiya kit. The late B model ghostriders are so cool. Will you be using aftermarket parts? The GWH kit does not have everything you need for your jet.
  19. Thank you everyone for the great answers. I will try to make the little red bag to go on top of the seats also. Weapon question, I am doing the Nellis based jet from 1996. I have found one photo showing an olive drab AGM65 Maverick. Whats the difference between them and the white ones? The idea is one centerline tank and two mavericks so it looks a little different from all the models covered in HARMS.
  20. Hi guys, Not a phantom expert so wondering about what a normal configuration for a parked F-4G would be. Would the flaps be drooped? Auxiliary engine intake doors open or closed? Air brakes open or closed? Slats up or down? Horizontal stab neutral or drooped trailing edge down like on F14s/18s/16s at rest? Thanks for the help. Tom
  21. I used cream yellow, faded with white and then sprayed a very light mist of light ghost grey over them. Then because they vary in color some got dirty or darkened with oils.
  22. A hair dryer helps the tamiya decals settle down also.
