Hello mate, It is the tomcats sheet part XI. Think it was an update. I definitely fade the 35237 quite heavily when I build tomcats. Looks odd otherwise. I have a few photos of this jet landing at an airshow in England and it looks like 35237 above the horizontal stab. But the wing glove area looks very light with no discernable demarcation line. Weird! Thanks for the help and advice. Your 1980s ghostrider was a work of art.

Hi guys, About to put paint to plastic. Building an F14B from 1994 with VF142. Decals are from the furball sheet and look superb. However the side profile shows 3 color TPS paint but the top profile shows overall light ghost grey. Photos I have are hard to tell. Leaning towards 3 color TPS . Anyone know for sure? Cheers Tom

HI guys, I am about the venture into my first prop kit ever. I have the USAF A1 skyraider from Tamiya in 1/48th. Does anyone know if there are decals for "midnight cowboy"? I had a magazine as a kid with an article about the skyraider and that was the aircraft. I would love to build it. If they do exist and anyone has them and would like to sell them please let me know. Looking forward to a new challenge. I guess I better learn ho to do chipping and stretched sprue antennas. Cheers Tom

I lost a landing gear door for a couple of days. I was sure the model was ruined. I was absolutely loosing it. The all of a sudden, I looked on the top shelf of the bookcase. There in a spider web, was the gear door. Absolutely no idea how it got there. NO spider to be seen. Model was never on the bookcase. Hmmmm.

Hi everyone, I am wanting to put some Mk82 500lb bombs on my early life F14B. I have a shot of a ghost rider carrying them. They look like the extendable fin, high drag version. Flying leathernecks makes some awesome looking bombs. My question is, what ones do I need to buy? I am not familiar with fuse nomenclature so not entirely sure what I need. Also the Eduard Triple Ejector rack, will it attach easily to the Tamiya bomb racks? I thought about building a VF101 jet with TERs and blue practice bombs. Thanks guys. Tom

Does amk model the spoilers? The pilot could deploy these using direct lift control to help with glide slope corrections so they could be deployed. Not 100% sure but I think it was only the inner spoilers.

It may have happened at least once. In the book "fast movers" the chapter about f8 driver John Pirate Nichols. He talks about TR Schwartz and Beaver Heiss coming Into the break for "close abeam club" break. The wing seperated from the fuselage and the fuselage landed in a baseball diamond. Vought later estimated that as the wing seperated rhe fuselage pulled 176g, instantly killing the pilot. Sad stuff.

Does anyone know which aerials and vents it needs under the nose and what other lumps it should have? Does anyone have any build tips? I believe the instructions show a couple of mislabeled parts. Hi guys, Does anyone have a high res version of the kinetic f18c painting guide? I am wanting to make mine into the nsawc 33 brown green splinter. My kit only came with the crap, low res, printed black and white set of instructions that is so blurry I don't know what's going on. It was from the LHS too. Not sure why I stayed from tamiya tomcats!

Yep. I was answering his question about live ordnance beinf dumped. I was under the impression that dumping fuel was almost standard for every sortie flown off the boat.

No. They bring it back aboard the ship. It would get expensive dumping that stuff on unsuspecting fish all the time!

Gravity feed for me. I mix my paint and thinner in a glass shot glass which is easy to clean.

Damn! I thought they were that colour originally. The Furball sheet has it as gloss sea blue so I went and bought a jar of paint. I would trust your knowledge about all things tomcat though. So Insignia Blue it is?

They are definitely Dark Sea Blue. I have a jar of model master acrylic for this jet, FS15042. I wish we could get decals for the jet with the desert storm patch.

Hello, By far the easiest way is to use the D kit and back date it. I bought a Tamiya A cockpit and seats from a person who put a resin set in their A model. Bought an aftermarket tcs pod and some ECM bumps for the wing gloves. That is all you need. If you got from the A you need gun vent, ecm, wheels, tails and so on. BIG MISSION. I did this exact thing a month ago to build a 1994 VF103 slugger and I will be doing more A+/B models like that too. What jet are you planning on doing?

Hi everyone, Just wondering what the best acrylic paint match is for insignia red FS1136 to match the Sundowners decals I have from Furball. I have a jar of gunze H23 Shine red. But I can also get hold of model master insgnia red and Gunze H327. What would you guys recommend? cheers!
