  2. One of the top things on my bucket list (I am getting older, not younger) is selling off much of my 6,000 book library. For the past few months I have been listing my military books on eBay and the other day I moved some crates around and uncovered my stash of PAPER CARD MODELS. Lots of paper card models. Lots and lots of them. :smiley-transport007:/> 1/33 scale airplanes, smaller sale ship models, etc. So I am listing them on eBay along with my books. Take a look if you are interested in paper card models, military books and an occasional plastic model kit. If you are really interest

  8. I have been buying and selling on eBay since 1999. I have been able to buy some models that I could not find anywhere else. When I lost interest in some models I was able to sell them to others on eBay. In the 1990's I got out of 1/48 scale and concentrated on 1/32 kits and got most of my models off of eBay. All in all I have enjoyed my experiences with eBay. There are a few problem areas, though. There are sellers who have no idea what these model things are or what they are worth. They do not know if the kit is complete and if it is, what it is worth. So they err on the side of maximum pr
  9. I used to dream about models when I was in high school. But then I discovered girls. When I went to art school I was dating a model. After a while all that gave me a headache. So I prefer to not dream at all. ssculptor
  10. I’m cleaning out another shelf of aviation books. All are in very good condition, books just looked through and then put on the shelf for later reference. A few of the books are in distressed condition and I will describe them when I get to them. Why am I selling these books? I am not a book dealer. I am a modeler and hobbyist. But now I am getting old and I have accepted the fact that I will never build all the models I’d like to have so I do not need these books for color and marking references. Thus they are up for sale. All books for sale at the prices listed PLUS postage. I can ship via

  12. Hi, I just noticed that I'm getting older when the candles on my birthday cake set off the sprinkler system. To save my family all the trouble of trying to sell off my large stash and library when I kick the bucket I am offering a lot of it on eBay. Also if I do it I can use the income to buy new goodies for myself (hey, I'm not dead yet!). I have some model kits and aircraft, ship and tank books listed on eBay now. Take a look if you are interested or curious. http://www.ebay.com/sch/ssculptor/m.html? I am constantly listing other models and books on eBay so if you are interested you mig
  13. It all depends on the size of the decal. In 1/32 scale before applying the full wing lozenge decals sheets one can slightly alter the final appearance by painting a light or dark solid color on the wing first. These decals seem to be a bit translucent and the background color does make a difference. It would be a good idea to experiment with different solid colors using some older lozenge decals you do not intend to use to see what happens. Stephen

  16. Sorry guys, but as a surrealist sculptor for over 50 years I am on the side of the artist. He has preserved his cat, with whom he apparently had a warm relationship, in a way that suits him. Since he is doing this to please himself I do not see that what he does is any of our business. I have lived with cats, up to 5 at a time, for about 30 years. Once we had 11 cats in the house until my wife and I insisted that the children find some of them new masters. I loved the cats, some of them more than others, of course, and yet I see no reason not to make one's deceased pet into a radio control
  17. In rearranging my library I came across some more books I do not need and can offer to you guys. The Camouflage & Markings books were published by Dulcimus Books, London. They measured 7 3/8 inches by about 10 inches. The pagination was interesting as it started with page 1 in Number 1 and continued in the second book, etc. The early books had a red cover (softbound) and had about 2 pages in color, more pages of line drawings in black and white and a sheet of three view scale plans with the location and types of insignia located on the aircraft. Really good for determining the markings on
  18. Hi guys, I need a copy of the Instructions for the 1/32 scale Lone Star Models OOP resin conversion kit of the Me109 B/C/D. I can use the real instructions, or a xerox copy, or a scan of them. I'll reimburse for any expenses. I have had this kit for years and I just opened it and found that the instructions are missing. :( I contacted the manufacturer but he said he either no longer has a set, or he cannot find them (sounds like me). Thank you, Stephen

  20. I don't like fussing with tiny bits of metal so I want to trade my Tom's Modelworks 1/32 Scale PE Set #501 WW1 BRITISH AIRCRAFT MACHINE GUNS. It has 2 Vickers & 2 Lewis guns. This is not a rare set as it is currently available from Toms for $7.75 plus postage. In exchange I would like the equivalent 1/32 WW1 British Aircraft Machine Guns cast in plastic. All nice and round, no teeny tiny metal bits to futz with. Also, I have an extra kit in new condition of the 1/32 RODEN #Ro607 S.E.5a, with the WOLESLEY VIPER engine. I'll trade it for a 1/32 WW1 aircraft kit by Roden, Battle Axe, whatev
  21. Hi Guys, I'm selling these issues of Squadron Walk Around and In Action books. As you know these are slick paper soft cover books of about 80 pages, mostly good quality photos, 11 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches high. The In Action books have about 50 pages, more or less. Condition is very good to unread. Buyer pays postage and tracking. I can ship these via Media Mail rate to save the buyer some money. I will trade for 1/32 scale aircraft kits or built models. 22. I need floats for 1/32 and 1/24 scale model airplanes. I can use both the twin long floats or the one long with two short wing tip floats. I can use them in any quantity, any material, in any condition. Also they can be damaged as I can usually repair and repaint them. Yes, I know that these floats do vary in size depending on the aircraft they were fitted to. but that is OK, just as long as they are about 1/32 scale. I will buy them, or, if I have what you need, I can trade parts from my stash of partial kits for your floats. If the floats are attached to a built model that you no longer w

  24. I have two 1/48 scale kits of the De Havilland OTTER. Thee two kits were made by Strombecker and are vacuform, meant for rubber powered flight. As Strombecker kits they are collectors items. Nowadays one may try to convert them to ultralight radio control, if one was so inclined. I had the idea of building them as static models, but that will not happen because I am now in 1/32 scale and will not build anything smaller. I like to be able to visually compare the models so they must be the same scale. The two kits are: 1) #FM24-100 U.S. Army markings 2) #FM25-100 Royal Canadian Air Force m
  25. Hi guys, I am looking for plans and data on the Blackburn Cubaroo. Anyone have any ideas, plans that can be copied or scanned, links I may access? I already did a Google search and found the Flight Magazine article on it. What I really need are the plans. Thanks, Stephen
