  1. Many thanks Harvy5, let me know what do you have, cheers. the previous owner did a lousy job when gluing the main wheel bay. Anyway I don´t like the Monogram´s interpretation of this bay. So a bit of plasticard and patience is in order. This is just a mock up, it´s gonna take a lot more work to get it done.
  2. The seat was modified to a *L* version. NeOmega gives a DM seat, more advanced and suitable for supersonic fighters. L version, doesn´t have arms restrainer, frontal deflector and the telescopic cases are more smaller, ( and weaker), for subsonic aircraft. This is mine after a ligth primer coat
  3. I eliminate this detail by sanding, and wil replace it later with a piece of wire. The ruder was broken when the fuselage was taken apart. So it will be replaced with plasticard later. Now it´s time to start working the resins. First cutting them, lots of dry fitting and then glue them in place with CA glue.
  4. Thanks stikpusher, And yes all the weapons are gone, even I don´t have the drop tanks. Not much progress here. I procced to clean the fuselage pieces, sand the glue marks, an fill all the dents created when separate these pieces. First i sand with fine grade sanding sponge for wood, and then finish with 3M black sanding pad for wood varnish. In some areas, I need to sand with sand paper, fill with CA and finish with the sanding pads. Some details must go, so i can use resin replacements. There is a lot of sanding work in my next future !
  5. Thank you Nikos, shure i´ll need some help. The inside of the intakes is beyond repair, so I´m planning FODs Fill the inside with Play Do and then make a impression with dental alginate, I fill it with plaster to get the masters to vacuform the covers.
  6. thank you guys. Those came in the Kitech 1/48 Su-35.
  7. the original Monogram kit was injected in orange plastic. One of the wheels is almost fully cover with CA. so I made a resin copy from the *good* wheel. Ok. it´s not perfect, but at least it can be used. :) the two inner wing suports are wrong, they are too long, so I need four of the external suports per side, so I clean the best one and made 8 copies of it. and a couple for the missile rail supports. I have a resin cockpit for this model from NeOmega. And a few pieces from FM
  8. Hi all!! I buy a Glue bomb from a friend, the kit is the 1/48 Monogram Su-25. Beside all the inaccuracies it`s a glue bomb!! I didn´t take pictures from the very beginning but I´ll try to explain. First, for all those who didn´t know what a glue bomb is, it´s the way many modelers call a lousy build, glue in all parts, heavy aplied paint, not sealed or sanded joints and other beauties. some of this models can be purchased for some cents or as a gift, for parts. I get this from a friend, and I´m planning to rebuild it. first in order it´s to break apart as many parts as possible an
  9. Hi all. Please can anybody tell me wich soviet missile is this???
  10. Thank's guys ! You're very helpfull, I have more clear now. Best regards.
  11. Hi all !! wich one is the most used color for the Mig-21Bis intake? I mean the interior of the intake not the cone. Thank´s in advance! :)
  12. The wheel bays was base coat too. The main wheel bays bumps in the Academy kit are in wrong shape, wrong size and in the wrong place. So they have to go. The main wheel bays are gonna replaced by the aires resin pieces, so they go too. The fuselage is too large, I´ll try to remedy this by using the CmK bisness end. So the fuselage needs to be cut. It´s kind of a nightmare adjusting the resin piece. I´m a bit worry for the see through effect in the front so cut a 22mm plastic disk. to cover the vision, only to realize that the fuselage is oval. So cut the disc in half
  13. I don´t like the representation of the radar display in the aires set, so the FM´s was cut and glued to the Aires PE. The whole cockpit was base coat, using Model Master enamels.
  14. Thank´s for the tip Curt!
  15. Hi all: This is my first WIP in this forum. I recently get the 1/48 Eduard Mig-21MF, and a friend from Chicago send me the Academy Mig-21MF as a gift. So I´ll start to build the Academy kit, using some spares from the Eduard kit. I will use a mix of the FM and Aires resin sets. starting to cut and clean the front fuselage for the resin pieces. And cleaning the front wheel bay resin pieces.
