I thought I'd reply to this question in case somebody else is searching for info about the Quinta cockpits for the Z-M and Meng F-4s. While you can use the set intended for the Z-M kit on the Meng kit, it's a bit more difficult to go the other direction and use the Meng set on the Z-M kit. I bought the Meng F-4E set for my Z-M build because it has the modified WSO console and instrument panel for DMAS/ARN-101 F-4Es. Hey All, I see there are a few Quinta sets coming for the Meng F-4G. I have the Meng kit, but the Quinta sets state that they are for an 'early' or 'late' Meng F-4G. Am I missing something, or can the Meng F-4G kit be built as as 'early' or 'late' version, or are the differences between early and late completely covered in the Quinta decal sets? I'm going to get a Quinta set for my Meng jet, just at this point, I'm not which one(s) would be appropriate. Any thoughts?

This is the 1/32 Tamiya F-16C Block 25 of the Indiana ANG, as flown at Balad Air Base circa 2008. I used the CJ kit as a starting point and backdated to represent a Block 25. The light weight landing gear and doors came from the Thunderbirds kit. MRP paint used throughout. Testors dull coat to finish everything. I have all 3 kits on order, and will arrive this coming Saturday, but no cockpit enhancements for any of them. Is there any word in any previews about 3D cockpits for those 3 planes by Quinta, or even Red Fox or Eduard Space? I've gotten to the point that I don't even want to consider a jet cockpit unless there are 3D vinyl aftermarket sets for them. How quickly I've become completely spoiled! I really don't even want to consider Eduard color photo etch panels, but if that was the ONLY thing available, i'd at least see how good the PE looks. -
I'll be watching this as well. I've built a couple Italeri in 1/32 and love the kit. By 'deleted' the original panels, I see you've removed the raised detail in preparation for the Quinta Studios decals. How did you do it? Sandpaper? Scraping with a knife? ALF

Thanks for the info gentlemen. Quinta Studios make very nice cockpit panels but that doesn't solve the problem of all the external A-10C differences , no? Have a wonderful new-year to all of you . Birdie -

The year is coming to a close in just a couple of days. This year I completed ten builds. Seven of these were commission builds. Maybe the knowledgeable people of this forum can give me informed advice. I just got a set of Quinta 3D cockpit panels for the F/A-18(A) today and started my next Kinetic CF-188. After doing some research, I am thinking that they got the color wrong on their decals, as all sources I find, claim that the F-18 (and most other US jets) have their cockpits painted in FS36231 (which was also the color, I used in my first CF-188). The Quinta panels look way too light for that, closer to FS36375 to my eye. So, I am inclined to paint the rest of the cockpit in 36375, to match the

I have used Quinta, Kelik, and Eduard Space 3D decals. All are good and I've had no significant issues with any of them. My personal selections, in order of preference: 1) Quinta, 2) Kelik, and 3) Eduard. If it's available through Quinta, I'll buy them over all the others as I feel it is the best of the lot.

Hi All, I've had my long, long desired 1/48 Meng J-20 Chinese Stealth Fighter model in my hands for many weeks now, and I'm really pleased with the plastic. Of course, since I'm not a 'rivet counter', I honestly have no idea about the accuracy of the kit, but it looks like it will build into a cool model. That said, using Scalemates as the final word in aftermarket items for any kit, there appears to be about zero aftermarket stuff available, at this point anyway, save for one landing gear item. I'm guessing that the Chinese are not going to be particularly interested in openin

I briefly considered using Quinta Studios or Red Fox 3D decals for the cockpit, but: 1. I can't afford them for all my builds, and 2. I didn't want to wait for delivery. So, I built the cockpit as-is, and painted it with Tamiya acrylics. I'm only going to use some silver dry-brushing on it, and maybe a few red and yellow highlights.

Hi all, Applied the decals. I really think this scheme is not correct because I have yet to see a two seater with single color through photos or illustrations on the Net. Single color I have seen is for the single seater and post war export models. But since I have no proof, I went ahead with this scheme. The Foxbot decals are very thin but strong. It does not respond to Mark Fit or Microsol but alone as is, it adapts well the panel lines and no solution is needed. I use the Quinta Studio seat belts (included with the cockpit set ) and I really like it. They feel like real leather

This is a great looking build! Excellent job on all those small details. I'm currently working on the "H" model from Zvezda and have seen a few ideas I need to do for mine. I've not yet closed up the fuselage or completed the cockpit area. I used the PE set from some Russian company (dont remember the name - not Quinta Studios). I'm also planning on building mine with the main cargo door open and in-flight. I'm currently working to replicate the sound-proofing interior for the cargo area. I havent created a thread for it here since I dont use a picture hosting service for photos. -

Cool. Have one on the way from Ali Express. Are you going to build it as is? I’m thinking of either transferring the cockpit parts to an E kit, or just cutting off the E helmet sensors and adding the D helmet sensors from the Quinta set.
