  2. Greetings, I recently made this lovely 72nd scale Eduard Mig-21. It is a great kit, practically no filler needed, went together like a dream. I purchased a lot of aftermarket for it as well - resin exhaust (Armycast) and engine (Eduard), resin pylons and UB-16 rocket pods, exterior and interior PE (all of these Eduard), metal pitot tube (Master), and Slovak Air Force specific decals (Airdesign). This particular jet was manufactured in Moscow and first served in the Czechoslovak Air Force, and later in the Slovak Air Force until 2001 (maybe 2002?), when it was retired and placed
  3. Hello gents, this is my proposal for the group build, the Academy 1/72 F-16CG kit converted to a F-16D Block 30 Barak using the CMK set. I know that the Academy kit have some issue, but hope to rectify them with the help of CMK resins and /or other alternative solutions. I've many Revell and a Tamiya kit in the stash, so I maybe can cast some bits frome these kits to improve the incrimined areas of the Academy's. Now some mandatory shots of the kit and the various AM sets. Some decals sheets to use, still not sure the S
  4. I'm having a blast going back and forth with my current builds, of which there are currently 12 (3 of them being 1/48 builds, including one Viper). So I really wanted to build an F-16N for a while now. Adversary Vipers are just so cool. I get excited whenever I see one being built, but that doesn't cut it anymore. I have one kit in my stash ad my moms but the entire closet is so blocked by other stuff I simply can't reach it. I also really wanted to build something else than Hasegawa. It's been a long while since I build an 1/72 Viper not by Hasegawa. Perhaps even a decade! An
  5. Looking for reasonably priced Heller 1/72nd E-3F/B (release with CFM engines).
  6. Posting another one I did very early in 2021 as one of my Covid lockdown builds. This is the 2006 Revell issue of the Monogram 1/72 X-15A-2, done up as the aircraft appeared for its last flight when Pete Knight set a speed record with it. The aircraft was covered with an ablative heat shield coating. It was pink in color, tended to come off in slivers and had an annoying habit of getting saturated with LOX, which could have "explosive" results. So the coating was covered in a flat white binder layer. The plane itself was a rebuild of X-15 ship #2, which was rebuilt following a bad crash on Mud
  7. Hey guys, Having no knowledge whatsoever about the C-130, I'm trusting you guys to help me on this one. 😊 I'm thinking about the possibility to convert the Zvezda 1/72 C-130J-30 into a standard C-130J, wanting to do the current Blue Angels "Fat Albert". I can see the fuselage has to been shortened, but how much and where? Any other things that needs to be changed/addressed? Are there any decals available for the current Blue Angels C-130J? Thanks in advance! Regards, Nick
  8. So concurrent with my GWH 1/72 F-15C MISIP II project I'm also taking a look at the Hasegawa F-15C (shout out to @hemspilot for bringing it up). Although accurate this kit also features "simplified" air intakes with no inner details: I modified the kit fuselage halves and my 3D printed intakes for the 1/72 GWH F-15 and found that the resulting parts fit together not all that bad: That's the good news! The bad news is that the actual kit intakes all too predictively won't fit in any satisfactory way with the custom 3D printed part

  10. Greetings Everyone, Trust you are doing well. . . My recent work of HobbyBoss 1/72 Dassault Rafale. The kit is very simple with few parts, but they have adequate detail for this scale. Weapons provided are also adequate except the kit could have included LGBs but its ok for a kit this old and with this price. The model is painted with locally available acrylic paints. As it was a commission build I got to build 2 of these . . . . 😉 Do enjoy the build . . Best Adi youtu.be/RR0Z3wv0bas · on
  11. Gents, if anyone has unused sprues with those chin pods that they do not need I am willing to take them over. I have a couple of Academy F-4Js that would like to make land based. Thanks all.
  12. This is my second Mig19/J6. Its from Plastyk. There's a reason why its under USD 10. Cheap and rather nasty. Requires much more filling and sanding as compared to my earlier Smer J6. Still, I'm rather satisfied with the outcome. Overall shade was Mr Hobby MC 218 Aluminium. I used a 4B pencil for that different tone of silver. Works better after putting on a matt finish, o find. Markings were from leftover Smer J6 decals. The Plastyk ones looked a tad thick and "sticker-esque" (see last photo).

  14. Hi there. I'd like to share with You my current little long term project. It begun with me wanting to build a few models with a common theme - Variable Sweep Wings, all 1/72. It begun with a huge box that cluttered my stash with a 1/72 Revell Tornado diorama I got second hand some time ago. Next one was a Su-24, and I begun looking at a MiG-23... With currently running Tomcat Group Build I figured a Tomcat would be a nice addition. Adding to that mix a Su-20 and Su-22 was really only natural. No sweat here, as I did not set myself a finish date, and I plan on doing a fe
  15. Adding the iconic soviet fighter to my to-do series, which is the best 1/72 kit series. Thanks.
  16. So this is the Smer 1/72 Shanyang J6. Basic kit, with decent panel details albeit raised. Also plenty of flash and not much in cockpit details. Anyway, this was a quick build done in 3 days ( 2 if I had not done some "rhinoplasty" to fix the sunken nose on the left and right sides of the nose cone due to excessive glue). Overall a fun built. In fact, so fun that i decided to order another one from Plastyk - this time a Mig-19.
  17. Hello, These are my little Mig-29 9-12s in 1/72nd scale. Story started a few years ago when I built my first Mig-29 in 1/72nd scale. At the time best choice was between the Italeri and Airfix models. I thought the Italeri kit was a better starting point and proceeded with my project. I actually was not very satisfied with that first try for 2 main reasons : I missed to correct the angled position of the main landing gears (Italeri gives them vertical…) I left the upper auxilliary intake doors open – they normally are closed when aircraft are parked and id
  18. Hello, I had a hard time deciding which livery I wanted for my Eduard 72nd scale Mig-21 MF. Then I decided for a russian aircraft with one of those complicated camos with several coulors. I found an interesting aircraft in white 17. It is a 5 + 1 colour camoed aircraft (+1 being the emerald green patches which might be repair works or touch ups…) This actually is a Mig-21 SM (SM being basically being the domestic version and MF beig the export version). White 17 belongs to the 1st Squadron ou the Fighter-Bomber 18th Regiment – 303rd Composite Air Division base
  19. Thanks to Covid I got back into doing the odd Aircraft in the last year. I have been unaware of any models over the last ten years or so. My main interest is finescale UK model railways, in October 19 we moved into our new home, the intention was a new hobby room for me, this is very much approaching on the horizon, so Ian will soon have by the year end I will have a 5m x 7.5 m model hobby room self contained, only draw back I have to build it and extension! So the odd Aircraft can occupy me when I have down time during the build. I have been assembling a f
  20. Hi there, This is my recent project, a nice Airfix kit. Not my usual scale, but this bird in 1/48 just won’t fit my space here. Except Eduard Masks, a must for all these clear parts, everything else OOB. Fitting is nice in general, except for the clear parts that build into the tail gun structure being too narrow for the fuselage, which causes a step. Also, after glueing the fuselage halves, I ended up with a gap right in front of the windshield. Despite this, the clear part for the “canopy” structure fitted well with the gap. So, instead of forcing the halves to join, I just
  21. Just a long shot, but I am looking for an F-16A ADF tail, at the moment the ADF kits I have run across seem to be a bit steep. Thanks for looking RJ
  22. Hi all, here is my 1/72 Revell BONE build in progress. I have done some scratch building on Main Wheel Bay and the Bomb Bays. Started this project a month ago and I hope I can finish it some time later... I did away all the raised panel lines and rebuilt them with 0.15 Tamiya panel engraver. Then added rivets to the panel line. Cut out the original bomb bay for scratch built bomb bay Used reference pix and blueprints found on the web as well as Willy Peeters' B-1B book to scratch build bomb bay and main wheel bay.
  23. My 11th and last build of 2020 is a Vietnam War-era A-4F Skyhawk. I added the APS-107 RHAW sensor under the nose and armed the Skyhawk for the SAM Suppression mission which the US Navy calls 'Iron Hand'. Decals are from Superscale. Painted in acrylics and given slightly heavier weathering with oils to depict a war-time bird. With fellow CVW-21 stablemate from VF-211 Checkmates. NP-103 wears markings from 1968 however. A full build log and more photos can be found on my s
  24. Hello Everyone, My first try at making ocean waves. I use my old Hobbyboss 1/72 Sh-60 Jayhawk kit and I modify this by adding rudimentary pilots, open door and a winch wire. The Rotating blades are made by using Clear Acrylic sheet which was masked and painted with RED White and Yellow Stripes. Black was Painted on the bottom in a fading stroke. The waves are made using silicone rubber and Baking Soda. I put two layers and I think it did a good enough job. The base is basic plywood and topped with foam and acrylic putty. Paints used a
