  1. This past Wednesday I just got Fine Molds' brand new F-15J delivered to my door. Immediately I started fiddling with it and started construction. So far I can definitely say this is not only the best F-15 in 1/72, but the best F-15 in ANY scale period. This is Fine Molds at their peak and their best kit yet. I really wanted a nice kit but I was let down by the GWH kit and the smooshed wide canopy and fat trailing edges. A problem scaled down from their 1/48 kit. The Platz kit was a step up, but the Matchbox-esque panel lines spoiled the whole package IMO. T
  2. Hello Friends, Just finished the F-15DJ of the JASDF in the Aggressor Color Scheme of Sand, Brown and Black. Academy F-15E Strike Eagle kit has been used as a donor kit and built into this F-15DJ. The model is built OOB and no mods have been used. The paints used are locally available acrylic paints. It has taken me around 20 days to build this model and I feel that it still is incomplete. Specially the decals and the stencils. Due to the pandemic I haven't been able to get my hands on the Relevant F-15DJ Decals and Stencils. Thus for th
  3. Hello! I’ve always liked Aggressor’s scheme for the Eagles, so as soon I got a F-15C kit, I went after the right decal set for this scale. They’re from Two Bobs and everything else is OOB. I scratch built the ACMI pod from a AIM-9, so this bird is in the normal configuration for ACM training, with the pod and a captive AIM-9. Kit was ok, except for the rear compartment lid that had to be well sanded so the canopy could fit closed, even tough is not perfect. Hope you enjoy! Cheers
  4. Hi all! So I am just now getting to posting pics of a build I completed last month... Anyway, here is my 1/48 Hasegawa F-16D Arctic Aggressor of the 18 AGRS at Eielson AFB, Alaska, 2008. I have always loved this aggressor scheme, and modelling it in a two-seat F-16D variant seemed only right! The Hasegawa F-16 kit is actually quite nice for it's age and very good fit. It is a rather simple kit, not a huge amount of parts really and I enjoyed the build. The F-16D kit I used is an older one, and did not have the correct "wide mouth" intake I needed, so I sourced
  5. Hi all! I would like to share my latest completed project, the 1/48 Great Wall Hobby F-15C from the MSIP II ANG boxing. I decided to build it in the fantastic splinter camo markings of the 65th AGRS circa 2013. The camo was done without a mask, using Tamiya tape and just kinda eyeballing it. I started by painting the gray, then masking and painting either the white or blue areas one at a time. Some areas were easier to paint the white over the blue, and others the blue over the white. I used some aftermarket on this one, including a Quickboost seat, Meng CATM Aim-9M
  6. Hi guys, I'm urgently looking for the Afterburner decal sheet "48-081 - F-15 C/D Eagle 65th Aggressor Squadron". If someone out there is willing to sell please let me know. Cheers, Jost
  7. Here's Tamiya's lovely F-16C, with parts from the Thunderbirds kit to turn it from block 52 to block 30. I have always loved the blue "Flanker" camo, so will be using TwoBobs' Blue Fox Bandits 32-051 sheet along with an ALQ-188 pod from Aires. Paints are Model Master enamels: FS36270 Neutral Gray lightened a bit, Flanker Medium Blue #2131, and FS35109 Blue. The drop tank on the table is a paint and decal test - I know the real planes carry standard-color tanks and pylons. Still need to make a CATM-9 Sidewinder practice round and an ACMI pod. The kit includes blanking pl
