Thanks to Covid I got back into doing the odd Aircraft in the last year. I have been unaware of any models over the last ten years or so. My main interest is finescale UK model railways, in October 19 we moved into our new home, the intention was a new hobby room for me, this is very much approaching on the horizon, so Ian will soon have by the year end I will have a 5m x 7.5 m model hobby room self contained, only draw back I have to build it and extension! So I got this as a bagged kit a few years back. I built this one in the mid-1980s and really liked it. I have a sealed one but ran across this one that was only supposed to be missing the large radar disk and supports. For a $1 I could not go wrong. I thought I could track down the missing parts...well, no joy there. So I thought perhaps make it a JSTAR with the extras that come in the Minicraft series of 707/KC-135/E-3/E-8 family of kits. While the forums were out, I've finished this "little" bird - Eastern Express 1:288 Not a lot of parts, but short-run nature of the kit promised some challenges Luckily, the fit wasn't that bad and Antonov soon got a coat of primer And not a lot longer, a coat of paint And here she is - finished!
