This past Wednesday I just got Fine Molds' brand new F-15J delivered to my door. Immediately I started fiddling with it and started construction. So far I can definitely say this is not only the best F-15 in 1/72, but the best F-15 in ANY scale period. This is Fine Molds at their peak and their best kit yet. I really wanted a nice kit but I was let down by the GWH kit and the smooshed wide canopy and fat trailing edges. A problem scaled down from their 1/48 kit. The Platz kit was a step up, but the Matchbox-esque panel lines spoiled the whole package IMO. T

Hello, this is my third (and last) Tomcat from Fine Molds. This is the F-14D kit (even if I have used the air intake from the F-14A kit as I have build 3 Tomcats in parallel, 2 A's and 1 D). Decals are from Two Bobs (the grey color was very disappointing). The figurine on board is from Fujimi, missiles are from Eduard and the LANTIRN pod from Fine Molds. BRU-32 bomb rack are from Hasegawa. I have made some modification on the kit (cockpit, seats, canopy, landing gear and landing gear bays). I have chosen VF-213 because the cockpit was painted in black during a period at the end of

Hi, this is my second Fine Molds Tomcat in 1/72. I have decided to represent an aircraft from IRIAF with wing, leading egde, flap, spoilers and aerobrake open. I have used Hasegawa wings (with some modification to represent the spoilers) and Fujimi pilots. Decals are from Print Scale (and some from Linden Hill). Sparrow and Sidewinder from Eduard. The colors are a huge mix of several Gunze reference (with a lot of trying). I have try to represent the correct camo from 3-6039 (according to a video and some picture from the same day as the video). Most of the camouflage has no blur e

Haven't done much modelling the last few years, and I've been looking through a lot of builds lately, of the Tomcats that have come out in the past few years (while I wasn't building any!)---I don't think any has been praised as "clearly the best one ever"----that said, I'm wondering what one "has the best odds of looking good when built". A master modeler can deal with any issue in any kit---that's not me! I'm looking for one where I won't have to spend 100 hours trying to get parts to fit. I would basically want to "slap it together out of the box, and be proud of it". Skills are rusty,
