Doing a bit of cleaning around the workshop today and I don't believe that I ever took photos of my 1/48 Lockheed RQ-3 Darkstar in hypothetical Beale AFB, 9th RW markings. The red markings were laser printed decals backed with white. I was fairly certain that red alone would be too translucent to show up on the black paint scheme. I also experimented with acrylic pencils to weather the airframe and really liked the effect. Unfortunately it pretty much disappeared once the satin clear coat was applied. [roll eyes] Oh well...

The Lockheed RQ-3 Darkstar was developed as part of DARPA’s High-Altitude Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (HAE UAV) program in the 1990s.
