  2. Hello, These are my little Mig-29 9-12s in 1/72nd scale. Story started a few years ago when I built my first Mig-29 in 1/72nd scale. At the time best choice was between the Italeri and Airfix models. I thought the Italeri kit was a better starting point and proceeded with my project. I actually was not very satisfied with that first try for 2 main reasons : I missed to correct the angled position of the main landing gears (Italeri gives them vertical…) I left the upper auxilliary intake doors open – they normally are closed when aircraft are parked and id
  3. Exhuasts coming soon. These were made by modifying and adapting the exhausts Alexander made for the MiG-29M/K kit (also used for the Zactomodels Revell correction set). They are now full depth. I'm working on instruction the sheet and production molds and expect to release them soon.
  4. Up all night and then some completing this Great wall hobbies Mig a fantastic kit with extreme surface detail and builder options not found in many kits. I opted to take advantage of having the engine out and the cowling covers removed. I added a few upgrade Eduard kits to enhance this build I have been planning for some time. There are at least three digital schemes between the Ukraine and Slovakian Air force all very similar with variations to the pattern and shade. I chose a Slovakian digital scheme in a tighter pixel pattern that I think looks more interesting. A mask does not exist for th
  5. Hello Everyone. . . A Mig-29SMT from trumpeter in 1/72 scale. I had built this model a while back. Now I decided to put this on a base, thus the Snow Diorama. This was my first time doing a diorama, its a small one where I just had to build a Base and merely modifying the MIG I built. The modifications are : 1. Missile covers done by Paper. For the R27s and the RVVs, the paper was rolled into a cone and superglued to the missile. Thereafter it was sanded to the desired shape. For the R73s a small square was cut and just pushed on the Nose of the missile giving t

  7. Hi folks! adter finishing the long Su-30 build I wanted to build something "easy" without that much work to get it to look nice, so I decided to build the GWH Mig-29 for a friend who was asking me to build it after some time! so I thought it was going to be a pretty straight forward build, and so far I'm happy with the decission cause this is a great kit! is not a shake'n'bake kit but is really close to that! it has some really nice details and fitting is really good in most places but let's get to the pics so you can take a look at it. I'm not gonna make a review of the kit cause there are so

  9. Spanish resin manufacturer, Scratchaviation (aka Scratchaeronautics), will be releasing a resin 1/72 MiG-35 kit. Other than Deagostini's diecast 1/161 model, this will pretty much be the only MiG-35 kit so far. It's available for pre-order on their page for 40 euros, or about $45. http://scratchaviation.webs.com/apps/webstore/products/show/7388373 Their Facebook page shows off their other kits: https://www.facebook.com/Scratchaeronautics/ Anyways, I'm glad someone has stepped up to provide a kit that has been sorely lacking in the Soviet/Russian scale modeller's co

  13. http://www.janes.com/article/68801/ukraine-announces-plans-to-develop-new-fighter Due to its current no-so-great relationship with Russia, Ukraine is going to develop its own lightweight fighter jet. As the article says, it's going to be more or less a MiG-29 (MiG-29C I'm guessing) but with wholly Ukrainian engines and electronics. Between this, the MiG-35, and the proposed fifth-gen Fulcrum that Russia and the United Arab Emirates are going to be producing, it looks like the Fulcrum design is going to be around quite a bit longer than expected. Of course, I just want a

  15. Hi everyone! Here's my latest project done. This is the excellent Zvezda 1:72 MiG-29 in S model (izdeliye 9.13) built in the markings of aerobatic group Strizhi (Swifts). The model was built for "Build a Bear Group Build" currently running here at ARC. You can access full article with photogallery here: https://vvsmodelling.com/2016/10/23/mig-29-9-13-fulcrum-c-swifts/
  16. Hi everyone Here's the first blog post of my current project, Zvezda's 1:72 MiG-29 9.13 in the markings of aerobatic group Strizhi (Swifts). Link to he blog: https://vvsmodelling.com/2016/10/12/mig-29-9-13-swifts-pt-1/
  17. After finally finishing the MiG-25RBF conversion, I've finally gotten around to building Zvezda's 1/72 MiG-29. I don't know if it's just me, but this kit practically snaps together, and with little seam lines to show for it. It seems like it'll need a fraction of the filler than your usual kit needs, let alone ICM's MiG-29 9-13. I don't know how it compares to Great Wall Hobby's 1/48 9-13 (mine is still collecting dust, sadly) but this kit is a breeze so far. I haven't seen much in the way of completed builds, though. Probably not looking hard enough.

  20. I've managed to bookmark quite a few websites while doing research. If you have any additional links to share please PM me and I will update the list. If you discover any broken or problem links please PM me so I can delete them. Enjoy! I am starting the list with Su-27 references. MiG-29 added. MiG-23 added. I will update this thread and add more posts (Su-25, A-7 etc.) when I can find the time. I am keeping this thread locked so no replies can be made in order to keep it 'clean' with only lists of links to sort through. To those who have PMed and e-mailed me 'thank-you's, you are v
  21. Hi all! Here it is, finally, after weeks of painting! I had this model built, painted and 'decaled' last year in Russian markings, but, while working on another model a couple of months back I stumbled upon some pictures of this plane and that was it, I had to make this scheme. So, I striped all the paint of it and started to paint it in this digi-camo scheme. After days and days of cutting Tamiya tape for masking and painting all I had left to paint were the rudders, and let me tell you, they were a pain in the butt to paint. I striped the paint twice 'cause it wasn't right, but eve
