Having just finished a Hasegawa F-14 I was ready for something quick and that to me means a Monogram kit. The Monogram 1/48 A-4 has pretty good detail, looks good and I have several. This was an out of the box experience for me, even the decals. Onto the pics.

I always loved this kit. Next to the B-26 Maurader, it's a winner in my book every time. Here's my second attempt in this lifetime of this kit. I hope to have it done in the next day or so. Since this shot was taken, I have sliced the nose off to correct an issue that just bugged me. I removed that noticable step between the nose and the fuselage side. Ugggg.....hate when that happens.

Good Morning, I'm fully aware of the problems with the kit, but I'm willing to do some kitbashing and correcting to come up with a decent F-16XL in 1/72 scale. Does anybody have one in the stash that they'd be willing to part with? I know that there are a couple on Ebay right now, but they are going for $40-50, and the kit is just not worth that much. It's taken three years to complete this build, due to life, work and my two other main hobbies! However, during the ARC blackout, I managed to get it finished, or as much as it is ever likely to be. The kit was given to me around 2010/11, but I didn't make a start until October 2011. I never build out of the box, and I'm always looking for a different way to present the model and a story to tell - hence the hangar queen being stripped for useable parts. Like all model, it has its flaws, but overall, I'm pleased with the way the weathering and particularly the figures turned out ( I've always s
