  1. Massive, massive 1/72 Hasegawa Phantom stash dump on eBay, just saying. No, it's not me, actually looking at a bunch.
  2. This is my first Meng kit and it was an enjoyable build. It certainly looks like a Phantom. I have built quite a few Phantoms and I will rate this one high on the scale of true phantomness. I do have a few nits: All F-4G's had the belly strap, Meng does not supply it; The ejection seats look like an afterthought, no seat belts and no pilots to cover the lack of seat belts; The G models have the characteristic 3 antennas on the spine and Meng has the spots to place the antennas but only supply 2 of the antennas omitting the middle one. The wing tips look more like the wings on C, D, B mode
  3. That's an awesome HSAWC F-16 on the gallery. On other news, massive, massive 1/72 Hasegawa Phantom stash dump on eBay, just saying. No, it's not me, actually looking at a bunch.
  4. First completion in a while. Tamiya's superlative Phantom kit with FineMolds' Nano-Aviation seatbelts. Painted with Mr Hobby lacquers, panel wash with AK Interactive and Ammo by Mig enamels, and weathering with oils. Hope you enjoy the photos. Feedback is most welcome! Mark
  5. Hello all. Hope you've all had a good weekend. I'm kind of a sunburned mess right now after an airshow yesterday. Apparently didn't put on enough sunscreen. Oh well... I'm going to have some fun videos and photos to upload for my blog this evening. I thought you all might be interested in seeing a piece that I finished in March called "The Scud Seeker." Since publishing this at my Fine Art America page I've received enthusiastic emails and comments from Crew Chiefs who worked on his bird. One of whom gave her the moniker, "The Iraqi Scud Hunter." I also created a 36x12 inch
  6. Moving from the era of props and into the jet age with this week's kit. We will be looking at the Tamiya 1/32nd scale F-4J Phantom II kit. This version of the kit build up as a Navy aircraft with air-to-air armaments. There is also a Marine version of this kit that swaps out the missile for bombs. Aside from this difference they are the same kit.
  7. Eagle Aviation Publications is in the honored position to present a new legendary title: "The end of the film" Commemorating 64 years of Recce excellence the book unveils the illustrious story of 348 Squadron! Serving the Nation from 1953, 348 Squadron will cease operations on 5th of May and the last remaining Hellenic Recce Phantoms will get their place in history as some of the most beloved jets in Aviation!
  8. Here are a couple of F-4 Phantom II profiles that I have completed recently. 1 ) F-4D Phantom II, 555th TFS, Thailand, 1971 2) F-4E Phantom II, 3rd TFW, Clark AB, Philippines, 1981
  9. Dear all, An old project ressurected and I would like to ask if you could help me with some research. I need to know the name of the Backseater of an Vietnam era Phantom: The particular aircraft was a F-4E Phantom II, 66-0371, tailcode was JJ. It served in Korat with the 388th TFW, 34th TFS from May 1969 to Feb. 1972. In May 1970 the aircraft was named Arizona Chicken with the appropriate artwork on the intake. The crew names were painted on the canopy rails. The pilot's name was Maj. Roger Long. I already contacted the USAF museum and
  10. Hello! This is another one I built. The F-4B Phantom from Hasegawa in 1:72 scale. I used the zoom photo etched set from Eduard for the cockpit plus some scratch building for the side consoles and the back of the front seat. The ejection seats are from Quickboost and are those for The F-8 Crusader. I think early Phantoms had these seats instead the Martin Baker MK-7 they had later. The exhausts are resin items from Aires. The decals are from PrintScale which are very delicate and need fast and determined application because they can fold easily. I used the decals for the VF-21 “Freelancers” 102
  11. Completed before the house move, this is off to the backseat as it depicts his farewell flight. The Hasegawa kit performed beautifully with an Aires and Eduard cockpit upgrade. Painted with Vallejo.
  12. Greetings! So once again I am back with another completed project, the 1/48 Zoukei Mura F-4S Phantom II in the unique Heater-Ferris scheme adorned by VF-302, circa 1983. The kit is the excellent Zoukei Mura F-4S kit. This was a fun build for me, and I enjoyed pretty much the entire process. Fitment is very good, and detail is fantastic! So much so that the only aftermarket I used were the decals. Those decals are the from the long OOP Afterburner Ferris Phantoms sheet from 2009. I think I lucked into finding that sheet on eBay for less than $20, after I had been se
  13. Hi there! After lot of time without contributing in this forum, I am going to open a new topic. This time is a project that was started some years ago and was latter abandoned and put on waiting. Recently I reopened the box and decided that it was the time to resume it. The basis is the well know 1/72 Hasegawa F-4C and it will be finished in spanish markings: And here is how the kit was when I resumed the work on it: Instigated for some post that I found on the forums I decided to add as much as detail as I were able, s
  14. Guys, a few days ago I've released my latest product, a correction set for the Zoukei Mura Phantom kits. It rectifies the shape error in the aft fuselage parts, at the engine "shoulders". As you can see, this is not a "drop fit" set - cutting of the fuselage is required as well as some sanding and blending to integrate the replacement parts seamlessly. I do provide self adhesive guide strips though that will give you the precise cutting line, based on existing kit panel lines as well as thorough instructions. I think the Zoukei Mura Phantoms are great kits, probably the
  15. So I've built maybe a half dozen of this particular kit as USAF Vietnam era or Thunderbird and even one like on the box. But it doesn't look like I've kept any of the instructions for this kit. I've searched online but come up negative. I have two kits in the stash, neither has the instructions, and would like to build one in the dark blue splinter looking camo with white sharks mouth but don't recall what the paint pattern is or what colors to use. Anyone have a soft copy they can email or a hard copy they can scan and forward? Thanks in advance for any help. Don
  16. 48021 is now shipping. It includes a variety of colors/style walkway for F-4s from Vietnam to modern day. Sized for Hasegawa and the new ZM kit. www.reidairpublishing.com
  17. My last build for 2017 is a commission from the navigator of XV426 which flew with 56sqn RAF. The scheme is from the final scheme of the aircraft including the red cockpit surround which was added by the Norwich Aviation Museum who now owns the cockpit section of the aircraft. Using the excellent, but now dated Hasegawa FGR 2 kit along with Eduard cockpit set. Painting was done using Vallejo air and the decals were a mixture of kit and spares. The Spooky II mascot is a 9G mm figure by aerobonus.
  18. Returning to aircraft subject matter this week with a look at Monograms F-4J Phantom kit in 1/72nd scale.
  19. Hi, guys I'm about to start Tamiya's F-4E Early. My budget won't allow me to buy afternarket correct engine nozzles for it, so I'm looking for the Revell kit ones. I thought I had a pair of them in my spares' box, but could not find it. If someone has those parts and is willing to negotiate them, we can work something out, I have lots of parts and spare decals, in 1/48 and 1/32 . Cheers and TIA, Sergio :)
  20. Hello Fellow Modellers, I am trying to find the Platz decal sheet JD-18 which is for the JASDF F-4EJ Kai two tone blue scheme in 1/72. If you have a set to sell/trade or something close from another manufacturer, I would be interested. Here is a link to the decal sheet: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10030444/20/1 Thanks, Harold
  21. Hi all, Had a bit of a clear out from the loft and came across a couple of plastic beauties, the ERTL KC-135A and Real KC-10 with Tornado IDS. Also getting rid of the die-cast Century Wings F-14 Jolly Rogers AJ203 and Corgi RAF Phantom F.MK.3. 22. I'm surprised that I haven't see a thread on this topic? Looks like ZM is working on a 1/32 line of phantoms. Great to see! I have the 1/48 kit and it looks spectacular but I've always wanted to do an accurate F-4S in 1/32. "And………………………………….!!! These machines will be finally made into SWS 1/32 scale kits!! Both are way under development and, needless to say, will be reproduced as SWS standard models with their extreme level of details! And these two aircrafts are proceeding simultaneously!! Japanese aircraft fans, German aircraft fans and you, every-kind-of-airplane f
  23. Ho, i'm checking my (self)engraved Hase F-4D, and notice some discrepancies with regards to the panel lines. which book /site has the most accurate line drawings? I have D&S and aerograph/fax books. tnx, Sudesh
  24. Hi, anybody have a good colour shot of the top of an USAF phantom seat? I have found several walkarounds online, but they all seem to forget the top! tnx, Sudesh
