  1. I'm calling it finished...... It's a great kit - if a little 'over engineered', but it looks good when finished..... Close up of the bridge and two missile launch tubes... The bow - with optional open torpedo loading hatch.... The rear end - with replacement 3d-printed props.... It's a big beast - and is being upgraded and kept in service to replace the too-expensive Typhoons. The Delta's are named after Russian cities - in this case Tula - note
  2. Just delivered - courtesy of Hannants and Royal Mail - Mikro-Mir's latest 1/350 scale submarine USS Parche SSN-683 - Late Version. Box art - note the divers lockout chamber on the aft casing - disguised as a DSRV.......... The instruction sheet is a flimsy A4 page folded in half ........... the first page gives a brief potted history of the boat and a painting guide (!)... The reverse is the construction diagram....... The hull is split horizontally..... The only other sprue provides

Instructions..... The hull is split horizontally - with excellent engraved detail..... A second sprue contains the conning tower and dive planes etc... The package is finished off with a small decal sheet, etched brass propellers and a clear 'windscreen'.... This

She had retractable skegs to allow her to sit on the seabed.... My attempt at reproducing the image above - using photos of my models....... Mikro-Mir USS Sturgeon (pretending to be USS Parche as first launched), USS Parche (Early) as kitted by Mikro-Mir and my (incorrec
