  1. Dear all, I am considering getting the Trumpeter 1/48 kit. DonĀ“t know yet if it will be a C or D. I know, there is an issue with the intake, which is addressed by some AM companies. How good is the kit actually? Is it a) get a new intake, the rest is fine b) it has some issues (please tell me which) but builds into an accurate replica when corrected. c) get it only if you really need a 1/48 F-100 with recessed panel lines, otherwise go Monogram. There is a corrected tail fin for the C model and corrected 335gal drop tank noses. What are the issues in these cases? Nit-picking or serious shape issues? Thanks for your help! Thomas
  2. Edit #2: It's now for sale! Cost is $8 + S&H Place your order at www.Zactomodels.com Edit: I screwed up the pattern. There will be no seamless intake... Aires is releasing a gear well set so I probably won't be issueing those parts either. Instead I am just going to release a piece to correct the intake shape: It will require that you remove the forward fuselage and trim the ducting pieces to fit. I'll be pouring a mold and test fitting the castings in the coming days. More posts to follow... _______________________________________________________________________________ Seamless intake anyone? Though the original kit intake shape wasn't terrible, it was slightly off. Out comes the bic lighter and bondo! I've also added the missing internal radar hump. Nose gear well details are coming along. More to come including the main gear wells and speed-brake detail Chris
