  1. Hello ,this is my build last summer. I used S4804 (F-15C MSIP II flown by Jeff Hwang) but instead replaced its decals with Afterburners' 'Shogun Eagles'. Weapons came from difference sources( AIM-120Cs from Hasegawa's air-to-air weapon set, Sidewinders were from Tamiya's F-16C kit)
  2. Hi all! I would like to share my latest completed project, the 1/48 Great Wall Hobby F-15C from the MSIP II ANG boxing. I decided to build it in the fantastic splinter camo markings of the 65th AGRS circa 2013. The camo was done without a mask, using Tamiya tape and just kinda eyeballing it. I started by painting the gray, then masking and painting either the white or blue areas one at a time. Some areas were easier to paint the white over the blue, and others the blue over the white. I used some aftermarket on this one, including a Quickboost seat, Meng CATM Aim-9M from the short range weapons kit, and the ELTA-8222 and ACMI pods from the Meng long range weapons set. For decals, I actually had three options to choose from, the Two Bobs "Digital Flanker" set, Afterburner "65th Aggressors" sheet, and the Speed Hunter Graphics "Elegant Eagles" sheet. I wanted to do Blue 94, so that eliminated the Afterburner sheet which does not include that option. Between the Two Bobs sheet and the SHG sheet, the color saturation and stencils were nicer on the SHG sheet, and being Cartograf printed sealed the decision for me. This is the second time using SHG decals (F-4G was the other), and they performed fantastically once again. Big fan of their products! The GWH kit is much lauded, and for good reason. It is just a fantastically detailed kit, and fit is generally excellent throughout. Rear fuselage and intakes take the most care, but nothing major to note. Here is what I used on this build: Kit: 1/48 Great Wall Hobby F-15C Eagle MSIP II ANG boxing Decals: Speed Hunter Graphics "Elegant Eagles" sheet Aftermarket: Quickboost Ejection Seat, Meng Short-Range Weapons Set, Meng Long-Range Weapons Set Paints: Gunze Mr. Surfacer Black 1500 (primer base), ModelMaster FS35109 International Blue, Gunze Aqueous FS 36118 Gunship Gray, Mr Paint FS 36251 Aggressor Gray and FS 36628 White Gray, Tamiya Rubber Black, Clear Red, Clear Yellow, and Smoke, and Alclad II Gloss Black Primer, Airframe Aluminum, Pale Burnt Metal, and Burnt Iron. Future Gloss coat for decals and Future+Tamiya XF-21 Flat Base 6:1 ratio for final matte coat. Molotow Liquid Chrome also used. Mig Ammo Deep Gray panel wash. Without further ado, here are the pics, hope you like!

    Which 1/48 SU-35?

Need some input gents. I have an opportunity to pick up the KH SU-35S “Flanker E” for $60 after shipping which seems to me like a decent deal. I’m hesitant to pull the trigger however. After absolutely fallening in love with @Fighting Eighty-Four‘s build of it and want to do the same aircraft in flight, fully loaded. Would it be a good idea to pick this up or spend a little bit more for the GWH kit that everyone is raving about? Thoughts?
  4. Hi folks! adter finishing the long Su-30 build I wanted to build something "easy" without that much work to get it to look nice, so I decided to build the GWH Mig-29 for a friend who was asking me to build it after some time! so I thought it was going to be a pretty straight forward build, and so far I'm happy with the decission cause this is a great kit! is not a shake'n'bake kit but is really close to that! it has some really nice details and fitting is really good in most places but let's get to the pics so you can take a look at it. I'm not gonna make a review of the kit cause there are some really good ones around. First of all, the box pic! it shows the bird my friend chose, I'm not particularly crazy about the scheme but he likes it so it will be done that way! After that I worked the cockpit, you can see some really nice details and for the front IP there are a lot of decals for dials and stuff, patience is required as there are really a lot! like 20 or something really tiny dials
  5. This set intended to improve Great Wall Hobby 1/48 MiG29 (9-12, 9-13, SMT) exterior details. Made of steel with a thickness of 0.05 mm. WBR Rust Usmanov A.M.U.R.Reaver Team
  6. Hi all! I present to you my latest project, the 1/48 Great Wall Hobby MiG-29SMT Fulcrum-E, "Red 23" in the fantastic splinter camo of the Russian Air Force, circa 2010. This is indeed a beautiful kit that goes together very nicely, with relatively few fit issues. One such issue, according to builds I had seen during research, are the intakes. But I kinda cheated... 1. I Did not install the full engines and 2. I modeled the FOD doors in the down position. By doing this and removing all of the locator pins on the rear trunking I was able to get the fit to be nearly perfect. Aftermarket used were a Quickboost seat and Master pitot. The pitot gave me some trouble, as it didn't really fit the GWH nose. So I did a hybrid with the kit plastic and master metal. I have actually already broken it once now, and looking at the pics it seems I did not get it perfectly centered on the plastic part. So I will need to fix that. I didn't even notice it in person, looks ok from any reasonable distance... but photographs tend to magnify things! Decals are OOB, and they are actually quite good. No issues there whatsoever. So, looking at pics I have seen the SMTs in states anywhere from pristine to absolutely filthy. I wanted to model mine somewhere in the middle. But it did kinda get away from me (LOL), and is a bit more heavily weathered that I originally set out to do. Oh well, that seems to be something I have to fight often. Enough chatter, on to the pics. Hope you enjoy! Kit: 1/48 Great Wall Hobby MiG-29SMT Fulcrum-E 9-19 Decals: OOB Aftermarket: Master Model Pitot, Quickboost Seat Paints: Gunze Mr. Surfacer Black 1500 (primer base), Tamiya Liquid White Primer (for marble coat), Gunze Aqueous H333 Extra Dark Sea Gray, H75 Dark Sea Gray, and FS 36320 Dark Ghost Gray , Mr Paint MRP-189 Traffic Gray, Tamiya Rubber Black, Clear Red, Clear Yellow, and Smoke, and Alclad II Gloss Black Primer, Hot Metal Violet, Hot Metal Blue, Airframe Aluminum, and Burnt Iron. Future Gloss coat for decals and Future+Tamiya XF-21 Flat Base 5:1 ratio for final matte coat. Mig Ammo Deep Gray panel wash.
