  2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kinetic is buzzing... Something really new (I think so as a little birdie tells me...) or something out of the pipeline (MIIID/B, Harrier GR.1/.3/.4, A-4 Skyhawk, C-17, F-18C etc.)? Wait and see. 3. Dear ARCers, It has been a while since I announce new item here in ARC. It has been a busy year after factory removal as well as new tooling process. The brand new M346 is going to be released in August/Sept time. The new M346 use all the new tooling standard, the surface detail is using the latest 0.12mm high speed CNC / 5-Axis to take care special shape of the m346. Also, we use the similar approach of our F/A-18 design with top/bottom part (with complex slide mold) to deliver the simplest way to assemble the model. The kit also include canopy with and without MDC (used by Poland, Singapore airforce). Technically, the m346 is a training aircraft which it does not carry weapon. But we offer 2 sprue to include the AIM-9M and some GBU-12 for you to display "M346/FA" - Fight attack version. The decal is designed by IsraDecal and printed by Cartograph. We will attend the IPMS National in August in Phoenix and we will show up some test shot and build up there. Now, you can check out some CAD rendering here... .
  4. I recently received the latest Kinetic F-16 kit from Lucky Models, #48069 "Turkish Air Force F-16C" Included is a well printed decal sheet designed by CrossDelta and printed by Cartograf with four decal options. Two of the options are for two(?) Block 50 jets that attended Anatolian Eagle exercises in 2015, those markings include tail numbers 93-0672 & -0673. The two colorful options, a red and a blue tail version each depicting a "Falcon Instructor", do not denote a tail or serial number, and the instructions identify them only as "Block 40 with 143 Sqn" and decorated to celebrate Turkey having flown the F-16 for 20 years in 2007. Also missing from the kit is the very helpful color markings instruction sheet usually found in Kinetic kits, only the B&W decal location instructions are included with color callouts. There are small (~2.5") profiles of one side of the jets on the side of the box, but that's it. I'm trying to find photos on the net of these two colorful "2007" jets. Usually colorful markings like these are well photographed and those photos easily found, but I have had zero luck finding them. Please post links or info to help ID these airframes and assist in more accurate colors and marking locations. Thanks in advance...

    Kinetic 1/48 A-6E Intruder

Howdy. Gonna try doing a in progress post for this build. Recently moved back to 1/48 (from 1/32) Jets - traded most of the 1/32 away for 1/48 but this particular kit has been in the back of my stash for years - pretty sure I got it right when released maybe around 2012? Anyway I have a ton of aftermarket for it: Dmold intakes Wolfpack seats and wheel wells Profimodeler pitot Master refueling probe Hypersonic exhausts Eduard various sets and wheels GFactor brass gear (for the Revell kit but it looks maybe more detailed than the Kinetic plastic gear) Steel Beach mask set Markings will probably be Blue Blasters VA-34 around 1995 though I do not have specific decals for that year; I think I have enough info to piece the markings together and will print what ever I cannot source from other sheets (markings are mostly dark grey/black) Will probably hang HARM or maybe HARPOON under the wings with a center fuel tank. I have already a start on the interior with some paint and have done a lot of playing around with the plastic taping stuff together and testing fit and areas to improve. Some notes: -the fit of the cockpit into the fuselage is a little rough -the fit of the wings to the fuselage is not great but looks easy enough to tweak them to fit better -most air scoops on fuselage could use opening up/drilling out -panel lines are a bit inconsistent and missing all together in spots (vertical tail) -fit of exhausts is not great but going to use the Hypersonic set anyway -the leading edge of the vertical tail seems overly thick/blunt -the trailing edges of the wings seem a little thick too
  6. I'm interested in getting the Kinetic E-2C 2000 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound kits. I'm also interested in Caracal Decals C-2 Greyhound sheet CD48012 "US Navy C-2 Greyhound "COD"
  7. Hello all, I have the Sunkmodels Modelworks Russian (Su-33) Weapons Set for the Kinetic kit: Su-33 Weapons Set As the Kinetic kit requires only the half set to equip the kit with all necessary pylons (intake tunnel pylons and pylons underneath the intake ducts are missing completely in the kit) I have the other half left for sale including the half amount of missiles included in the set. 19€ plus shipping. I will keep shipping costs low, because It is possible to mail it as letter. Payment by PayPal is possible. PM me, if you are interested. Best regards, Thomas
  8. Hi, as the title suggests I am looking for a 1 48 Kinetic Sea Harrier FRS.1 (kit number 48035), for a conversion. I am also looking for the Cutting Edge 1 48 AC-47D conversion set (kit number CEC48040). I realize that the latter is a long-shot, but if you don't ask, you'll never know! PM me here if you can help! Thanks, Rick
  9. HI, I'm looking pylons for my F/A-18 Hornet A/C with the Kinetic kit. For AIM-7M Sparrow: I find reference on Reid Air & Daco books with LAU-115 launcher. For AIM-9L/M Sidewinder, it used the same LAU-115 launcher with 2 LAU-127 rails. Here with AIM-120 and AIM-9 on Canadian Hornet. Does LAU-115 launcher exist in 1/48 ? Thanks for your help SPang

1:48 SU33 Flanker Do by Kinetic

What a kit by Kinetic. Usually over engineered and far too complicated this kit is sublime. With superb detail at every level and great decal options you cannot go wrong! The only let down with this kit are the instructions. They are poorly printed and leave you guessing on some stages! This is an out of the box build with the only addition being the eduard cockpit set. The paints are Hakata blue line Russian ST set and Vallejo and MIG metal paints. The base is Coastal kits display bases Admiral Kustinovof's deck..

    A Hornets Nest

Greetings, I built a Hasegawa Hornet several years ago and remember it being a fun build that went together with few problems. I had a Hobbyboss A model, another Hasegawa D model and the new Kinetic C model in the stash so I decided to get them all done. I had the Afterburner decals for VFA-87 War Party that I used on the 1st Hasegawa and there were plenty left over so I used them on the Hobbyboss Kit to build an A+. I am not up to date on my Hornet specifics so I relied on the Hobbyboss instructions for the build. Obviously that was a mistake. There were some antennas that got put on the kit that I later found out don't belong on an A+ model. I'm sure you Hornet fans will pick those out. Other than that the kit goes together easy enough and has nice surface detail that some might find a little exaggerated. The one thing that stands out to me and it may be builder error is the main landing gear wheels stand too wide when compared to the other kits. The tires almost touch the inboard wing tanks. I did a panel line wash with diluted oil paint, and over painted some areas to give the impression of touch up painting that goes on during a long cruise. Models Master enamels were used for the painting. The Hasegawa D kit got a little more attention to detail. I got the Wolfpack update kit to supplement the kit. I also installed seamless intakes from Sierra Hotel Models. All those parts were excellent. The markings were from MAW Decals, MAW Hornets Part II and they were excellent too. I tried a new product for me that I like on this kit. Tamiya Panel Line Accent. I put this on over a lacquer gloss coat. It flows nicely and wipes of cleanly with turpenoid. Same touch up painting and Model Master paints like the Hobbyboss kit. The Kinetic kit was built out of the box with the kit decals. Again VFA-87. I like the surface detail of the Hasegawa and Hobbyboss kits more than the Kinetic but the Kinetic kit does have more build options for wing folds, if you like to do that. The wing trailing flaps also seem to be a bit more secure when assembled. The kit decals are from FighterTown decals and they were excellent. I kept this one pretty clean since is the CAG plane. Just the panel accents. Same Model Master paints. Enough words here are some pictures. 12. Hello, Are there any news available about the two seater Mirage III in 48 scale? This kit was forcasted by Kinetic for this year but since it was announced it has become very silent about this topic. Cheers, Jost
  13. Another one for my cold war RAF/RN Collection. I remember the Falklands war as a kid in school, and was always fascinated by the "Jump Jets" on the TV. So I was pretty happy when Kinetic released a Sea Harrier, noting that the only other options in 48 were the horrible Airfix and Tamiya kits. I'm also looking forward to Kinetics Harrier Gr.3. I've chosen to do XZ457 - "14" of No 800 Naval Air Squadron onboard HMS Hermes in the South Atlantic in 1982. XZ457 was the highest scoring Sea Harrier with 2 IAI Daggers and 1 A-4Q Skyhawk. accredited to her. As I've chosen to depict her on in the Hermes during the conflict the kill markings have been left off. The Kit 1/48 Kinetic Sea Harrier FRS.1 You do need to take a bit of time with this kit as many of the pieces needed a little clean up / dry fitting etc. But if you do that it will build up into a nice model. I've gone for a lighter shade Extra Dark Sea Grey to try and get a more scale looking colour, this meant I ended up with a bit to much paint on the model, which filled some of the nice recessed detail. The kit has some nice weapons, so much so I didn't bother with arfermarket weapons. Aftermarket Used Eduard Big Ed Set which has an interior PE set, exterior PE set and a Mask set. Dr Pepper AIM-9 Seaker head covers. Eduard PE RBF tags Fantasy Printshop Paper RBF tags Aerobouns Sea Harrier pilot J's Modelworks Carrier base (I know it's not accurate for a RN carrier but it'll do) I didn't use the Pavla seat as it didn't fit the kit being to large. Decals Kit decals. Probably the best kit decals I've used. Printed by carotgragh and it seams you can do pretty much every Falklands Sea Harrier. These are better than any aftermarket options I've seen. Paints Mr Color Lacquers - adjusted to TLAR for the Extra Dark Sea Grey. I tried to lighten the lower fuselage as this was over-painted white by brush on the way down to the Falklands and darken the areas on the tail where the squadron markings and "Royal Navy" were over painted. I didn't totally pull this off. Various Tamiya Colours Vallejo Acrylics for details . Clear Coats Testors Glosscoate, which was over coated with Gaianotes gloss lacquer as the testors stayed tacky, Testors Dullcoate and Tamiya Flat. Weathered with Oil paints for a wash an filters Pastels, pigments and coloured pencils More photos at my blog

    1/48 Kinetic F/A-18C OOB

Morning, So I built the Kinetic F/A-18C, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this kit. As I noticed some very nice differences from their competitors, but also found some issues as well. But the issues are minor and enjoyed the kit and it's challenges with open arms. This version avail in the box is the Sukhoi 20, although I have not noticed the absent bird slicers from the real pics until it was too late. So there are mistakes as this was my first F/A-18C build. This kit I used as to see what I need to improve on for my Canadian Hornets and I also used this kit for a few experimental/new techniques. Just have to finish the wash and maybe some ground safety pins later; now I need to move onto my beloved CF188s!
  15. Hi all, working wit a lot of French Air Force colleaugues, I'm starting to consider the possibility to have a Mirage 2000N in my showcase. And I would prefer the Italeri/Kinetic kit, rather than the old Heller/Eduard. Is it possible? What are the requested modifications and aftermaket accessiories available, especially as decals? ...my preference goes for an operational bird, more than for a special scheme. Many thanks!
