jwilliamson
Hi All, I am working on an F-16 in the 91 Tiger Meet scheme. I know there are no wing weapon stations but I cannot find a good picture of the underside of the wings. The kit has holes for the pylons. Should I just fill these and call it done? Thanks JOE
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Yes, I'd fill them. Granted, there are attachment points for the pylons on the real thing, but nothing like the humongous holes for the kit. Just fill them and be done!
jwilliamson
Well that was quick. Thanks alot. JOE
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
No worries. Just happened to catch me in here, was all! :D
EF
Here's a pic carrying outer wing pylons:
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
:D Oh, SURE...just when the guy's decided to do it one way, you come along and blow that theory out of the water!!! :P Nice pic, btw!
EF
Well, here's a nice model of that aircraft, no pylons: http://gustav.x-y.net/guest/htm/f-16a(1).html
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
 nice to have a choice! :P Anyone have a particular preference? Edited October 16, 2006 by Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
jwilliamson
Well that's interesting. I just checked the reference site linked from Daco and saw no Wing Pylons. However EF, your pic clearly shows them. So it looks like either way is correct. Thanks JOE
Mozam
I thought you were talking about the Hasegawa kit of the 1991 Tiger Meet which is the netherlands (I believe) F-16A. The Belgium one is a sweet paint job, where did you get decals for that?
EWZ
Source This one hasn't got any pylons. So I think it was optional. The bird was of course not only used for demo purposes, so I guess when they needed it for regular training they put the pylons on. Evert

The Belgium one is a sweet paint job, where did you get decals for that? Daco Products makes decals for this scheme (There is a link in the Manufacturers section on ARC). It is a big sheet but they look great. Thanks JOE
Mozam
thanks for the info, Joe. Did you get them directly from Daco? What yellow paint are you using?
jwilliamson
Hi Mozam, No I got the decals from my Local Hobby Store. However, I believe you can buy direct. I can't remember the FS number for the yellow but it is MM Insignia Yellow. JOE
Mozam
I'd rather find a place in North America that has it. Anyone know a dealer for Daco that might have that set in 1/48 scale? or does anyone have a set they no longer want?
EF
I don't know if they have them but I recently ordered some DACO products from Meteor.
Mozam
thanks, just checked and they don't have that set in 48th scale.
EF
Well, good luck with it, I'm still searching for the 1/72 variant. I had the Fujimi 1/72 decal sheet but it cracked beyond repair.
Mozam
they have the 1/32 scale sheet is all for that set
jwilliamson
I just wanted to say thanks to John Chung for sending me some excellent pics of the unside of the wings without pylons. Thanks John. JOE

Mozam
Daco is sold out of the 1991 set in both 48th and 72nd. Can't seem to find them anywhere else either. The Fujimi kit is not to be found anywhere either. Interesting tidbit on the Daco 1998 Tiger Meet decal set. I noticed it also has the decals for the 1994 Belgium TM plane on it. I have the RG 48th Kit so don't need the 1998 decal set but would love to find the 1994 decals off the Daco sheet if anyone used them but didn't want the 1994 decals. EF
The extra blue tail markings Rob? I think I have an extra set in 1/72. Do you want them? Edited October 19, 2006 by EF
Mozam
EF Yes, those are the ones. Does it just include the small section in hte upper right corner? Sure I'd take them. What do you want for them? Rob Edited October 19, 2006 by Mozam
