My ESCI F-8E is coming along, nicely. Hasnt been the greatest of builds, bad fit and lack of detail hampering my best efforts. But its my first in a long while back in the hobby so making the most of it :)

Just started the decalling this evening, once that's finished just the missiles and the pylons to be added and a bit of the cockpit to complete along with the canopy.

Hopefully I should be finished in the next few days :)

How about you guys, beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with your builds?

Or not, perhaps!

Lets hear about it, oh and if you've any completed/in progress pics post them here

Cheers

Kevin

I'm getting close. F-4 has decals on, got flat coated and prepped for weathering this AM. Last night worked on ordnance.

The A-4 is painted and (hopefully) decalled this afternoon. Canopy has yet to be tackled, so that could be the hold up on that one.

Nothing from me yet. Both my projects are still on hold. Working out of town during the week isn't helping.

I hope to finish at least one before the deadline, but its not looking good.... :)

Cheers, Ian

And then, disaster strikes....

Decalling the A-4 - the tail code decal shattered. Using the Victory Models A-4 sheet, and that's the first time I've ever had that happen...

Got most of it on in pieces, just have to go back and see if I can't manually fix the rest.

Working on the weapons pylons for the F-4 - and the flat coat crackles. PLanning on stripping them tonight and repainting. Hopefully, can finish them by the weekend. Rest of the aircraft is progressing. Tail planes are on, seat are done, and canopy is ready for installation. Planning on beginning fitting the last of the fiddly bits tonight as well.

Always love a good race to the finish line!

The A-37 is on hold, because I am still waiting on the photo etch I ordered three months ago...

I am doing a OOB A-4 instead, and I am going to shoot the top color tomorrow, and decal it Sunday. Sometimes the simple things that work are better then the fancy ones that don't.

Not gonna make it. Last weekend my Huey landed in a hot LZ and on the retreat, was hit and forced to make a hard landing (in other words, I dropped it when I removed the fully assembled fuselage from some C-clamps :D ). The side windows blew out of it, cracked the windscreen, and blew open the lower fuselage seam. I will finish it, but not in time for the GB's conclusion.

Cheers,

Alby

I just have to get my hands on a camera now. I should be able to get one by the end of the week. Had to bail on the A-37, and do a skyhawk, but it turned out to be a neat little shelf model. I have always wanted one of these in my collection. Now I have one.
