Both crew seem to have escaped as witness s say they saw two parachutes Hope they are all well. Cant get onto UKAR at the moment ???? Is the site down Link to post Share on other sites

Jay Chladek Posted October 26, 2006 Share Posted October 26, 2006 I am very surprised that the wreckage survived as intact as it did, or at least didn't dig a big hole in the ground (that is some tough UK countryside). :wacko: If they sucked up a few birds, then both engines would have flamed out, so I imagine the jet bled off a lot of speed before the crew punched out (as they tried to initiate a restart). Then the remaining plane looks like it rolled over and cartwheeled down the mud flat. The wet ground probably is what kept the remains from catching fire. It looks almost like the crash scene of a Piper Cherokee I saw last year locally (another example of a plane cartwheeling after it hit the ground). But the people on that plane didn't survive.
