Pete Wenman
Guys hi In preperation for a full oil painting I'm playing around here to get a feel for the aircraft and the way colour and light plays over it. (These are rough and ready, not polished finished paintings, hence the missing details and markings). thoughts welcome Pete

Buchan Buchan
Hi Pete, I prefer the (Black) Hawk, you made it look gloss black which cannot be easy (I have never been brave enough to try) the tonal values are really spot on. I think the Red Hawk looks a bit too WOW and stark(?) against the blue and white sky, but it does really does look gloss Red. The other thing that I immediately felt about the Red Arrow is where are the other 8 Arrows and is he above the clouds (feels odd for an arrow painting) ? a bit predicatable perhaps as he could be on solo training flight (just FEELS odd??!!??? sorry) . My verdict...definitely the Black One! Still getting used to the controls here, so sorry for the glitches Edited November 19, 2006 by Buchan Buchan
PapaSmurf630
They're all awesome pictures but I really like the last red arrow! I personally thing the red is spot on and the colours perfect....looks like a very sunny day. I must also say the gloss black on the other studies is beautiful. Very nicely painted. Clave
If these are just 'trial runs' then I can't wait for the 'real thing'
