JEN722
This is one of two Tamiya Me262s I painted earlier this year. Yesterday I gloss coated it so that I can apply the kit decals later this weekend. It was painted freehand with MM enamels. As usual I pre-shaded the model before applying the main colours. After applying the mottle I lightly sprayed the upper surfaces with thinned dark green to lower the contrast. I still have to touch up the scribble pattern on the other Me262 but I will post some pictures of it once that has been done (don't hold your breath though).

JEN722
Thanks Daniel and Thundervett. I too like the camo on this one - and the fact that it is so different from the other 262 I am working on. Regards,
Jamie Cheslo
I have always loved the shape and look of the 262. Very mean looking. I like the scheme of this one. As usual, that is a very sharp build, Jen. Where do you find the time to roll these out? Thanks for sharing. J.C.
JEN722
Jamie, Being back at the AF college for the captain's course I need to take my mind off of things in the weekends. I usually don't get much built these days but I do find the time to paint a bit. Regards,
Albert Moore
Hi Jens, While WWII subjects aren't my cup of tea, I can appreciate an excellent airbrushing job and that is definately an excellent airbrush job. Cheers, Alby
JEN722
Thanks Alby!
JEN722
Tonight I started applying the kit decals. They seem to settle down well onto the model. I still have to add all the stencils and the lower wing national insignias. Regards,
David Walker
That looks great. I really like the paint work, and they always start to look more real when the decals are added.
Aggressor Supporter
Looking good and agree the paint work is great. Looking foward to seeing it completed.
Jamie Cheslo
Those are very clear and crisp decals for sure. Usually Tamiya's are thick and difficult to put down. Well done! Can't wait to see it weathered up. J.C.
JEN722
These decals were thick too compared to e.g. Eagle Strike decals. However, most of them settled down just fine with a little help from the setting solution. I applied the rest of the decals today. The model has now been put away to dry, and next time I get home I will check for air bubbles etc., give it a coat of Future and then some weathering. I can't wait! GrandpaVader
Another great one in progress! Can't wait to see more.
toadwbg
Nice work, It is inspiring me to build my Tamiya 262.
JEN722
Thanks Grandpa and Toad. I actually forget to mention that the piece with the gun muzzles is from a Dragon kit. Tamiya has closed off the upper gun muzzles, and the pictures I could find of this aircraft seem to indicate they were all four there. Also, I chose not to use the white oval decals for the lower gun muzzles. I figured I could paint them instead of using decals. Regards,
