Dave Williams
The new CA 1/48 B-57B kit seems to be going fast. The Sprue Brothers web page says that Gordon sold out of his first and second preorders, his third preorder is going fast, and CA is sold out. Seems like there is a lot of pent up demand. Sounds like if anyone wants one from anywhere, they may want to get on the stick. Just FYI. Anyone know how the other versions sold, like the T.17? It's sounding like the B-57 may be the "hottest" of the bunch. Edited December 14, 2006 by Dave Williams
EF
Well, not my scale but after reading this review I want one!
Chappie
Anyone know if there will be any of the 'big wing' versions released later on? Chappie
Matt Roberts
Just wait for Airfix/Trumpeter....now where's that emotacon for lighting a fuse..... Just curious how much aftermarket/conversion stuff exists for Classic kits? Since it would seem the nature of the beast that many do not buy multiples of the kits the minute they show up and once you have the first basic kit finished the kit is OOP and unavailable to build a second modified version. Most of the aftermarket that I have heard of were the corrections for the Vampires. Just curious, matt Though a WB-57 would be very impressive, especially the one with the auxillary engines under the wings. Maybe Trumpeter may do something that crazy, didn't they shoot down some Taiwanese ones in the 60's?
Dave Williams
Anyone know if there will be any of the 'big wing' versions released later on?Chappie I think that Jules mention over on Hyperscale that they weren't doing the big wing/ big engine RBs, however I think he said they might do the PR.9 with the "fighter" canopy. There isn't much aftermarket available for the CA Canberras other than decals, probably because CA is already doing most of the versions with major differences (other than the big wing RBs). Saw a rumor that someone may be working on a B-57G conversion for the B-57B.

The B.2 is sold out at places like Hannants, though I saw a few for sale at Telford - was thinking about picking one up at the time. Like Dave says there are aftermarket decals - quite a comprehensive selection between Model Alliance & Xtradecal as a matter of fact, probly released in anticipation of the Airfix kit as well as the CA one. Me, I'm still waiting for Revell to do new tool ones in 72nd. The Luftwaffe did use them after all.......
engineman
Anyone know if there will be any of the 'big wing' versions released later on?Chappie For a RB-57D you would need new wings and that might be a possible conversion kit, but for the WB-57F version well that a whole new airplane and other than the B-57 designation shares little with the original B-57s in fact if I recall the WB-57F were not called martin but general dynamics WB-57F. Sure would be nice to see one of those monsters Scott :D

gkwan
Please be advised that we have temporarily stopped accepting pre-order for the 1:48 Classic Airframes B-57B Canberra #4130. We are now at the number that we are comfortable that we will actually receive. We have more on order than that, however we are hearing from different distributors that they are already sold out and unable to fill all their orders. The manufacturer is sold out as well. We don't want to put anyone in a situation that you pre-order it with us and we cannot fill your order, then you end up not being able get the kit because you chose to order it from us. We will restart accepting pre-orders as we get confirmation of more kits enroute to us (which we are working on). We should know more tomorrow afternoon.
ramcdaniel1
Me thinks CA might ought to do another production run. This puppy is way popular. I think they found a winner! ;)
