Chappie
I've talked to a couple of the photographers here on ARC and none have ever heard of ZF-coded F-16 based at Homestead. On the Sharpshooter website on the "Vipers Was Us" page they state that the 31st received Block 15s in 1982 (replaced F-4s?) and carried the ZF tailcode until switching to HS in 1985. Anyone EVER seen a ZF coded F-16A? Chappie
Ken Middleton
Chappie - I think I have either online or in a publication....let me scan through my old books and see if I can find one
Steve Filak
Chappie, I stumbled across a photo over at f-16.net: http://www.f-16.net/modules/Gallery2/galle..._serialNumber=
habu2
I've seen several photos in books etc. TTBOMK no decals have ever been released for the ZF Vipers. I picked up an old Superscale sheet (48-148) for the ZF tailcodes for an F-4D, saving them for a possible ZF-tailed Viper.
Andre
I picked up an old Superscale sheet (48-148) for the ZF tailcodes for an F-4D, saving them for a possible ZF-tailed Viper. Don't the codes differ in size between a Phantom and a Viper..? TwoBobs used to have an 1/72nd US tail code sheet which was sized correctly for the F-16, I think. Cheers, Andre
j-basset
An issue of Take Off magazine did have a pic of the 31 TFW boss bird with ZF tail codes going vertical.
Chappie
Ken, Thanks for looking, I'll be here when you get to it. Filak, Aha!!! Finally! I looked through F-16.net also but never saw that one. Habu2, That is exactly why I'm looking for these shots, I'm going to have to get together some scrap decals to make one of these jets someday. Unless I can get enough refs for Scott to do an old Homestaeed sheet. ;) j-bassett, Can you scan that photo for me if you find it? Chappie
