ch4vetrep
HobbyTown USA in Alabaster is a great shop, and not the typical HobbyTown. Great selection of armor, good selection of aircraft, fair selection of cars. R/C, metal detectors, doll houses, etc. are there, too. They have a good selection of magazines, paints, resein casting supplies and a lot of varied after market stuff. Steve Sanders is a modeler, knows the hobby and will exhaust al efforts to find something for you. Colonial Prominade II 100 S. SonyKen
John, If you are going to be that close around the 20th of June, the Metro Atlanta IPMS model contest and show is NOT to be missed on that date. The folks at Metro Atlanta have landed a yearly gig at the Cobb County Covention Center, and that was the best decision that they could have made. Those folks have put on a high caliber show every year and now they have a venue that is up to those high standards. Check Here: IPMS Metro Atlanta Website I have already purchased my table so I will be a vendor at that show. HTH! Best Regards, Ken Bailey (SonyKen) Edited May 29, 2009 by SonyKen

Friendly people and great selection The Model Box, Inc 1911 Hoover Court Hoover, AL 35226 Phone: (205) 940-9740 Nice little shop. Mostly RC focused, but have some plastic and supplies. Mostly cars, some armor, limited a/c (about 50 kits total). Nice feel though. HobbyTown USA in Alabaster is a great shop, and not the typical HobbyTown. Went by and searched all around. Looks like they went out of business as there was no sign of moving. Bummer.
Chorse6
Visiting B'ham. Looks like Model Box had a fire. Sign in the window says it will be opening again, but doesn't look like soon.
kg4kpg
Since it’s been 7 years since the last post, just wanted to check in to see what is still open in Birmingham. Going to be up there this week. South side of town around I-65 & Lakeshore PKWY. Thanks, Chris
