Pete Wenman
Guys hi I won't finish this one in time for the end of the GB but thought you might like to see it as it is. The perspective model in APM A rough value sketch and the nearly complete aircraft drawing. As you can see the Panther is pretty large in this one. I'm a little short on detailed reference for the Panther so any and all help welcome Pete
Rampage55
Wow Pete! Very cool, Excellent composition. I really like the perspective you created, and how you top it off with the sun burst on the horizon. This one will be a stunner. I can't wait to see the finished product. Do you offer any of your work as prints? You do beautiful work. I'm moving into a new home and I am going to have much more wall space. Thanks for sharing, Mark

Pete Wenman
Mark hi I'm still trying to find a printer who is cheap enough to make prints viable. If your interested drop me a line as original art can always be had. Pete
Pete Wenman
Guys hi Some paint on canvas, but no aircraft yet I'm afraid Pete
Rampage55
Very cool Pete, I realy like the soft quality of light you have captured. Cheers, Mark
JochemKL
Hello Pete No aircraft yet but nevertheless impressive work so far. Really enjoyed your first painting, have it on my HD. Looking forward to the finished piece. gr. Jochem
Pete Wenman
Feel like this is back on track, and it's nice to paint something that makes a noticeable difference to the painting, rather than keep going over the same part time and time again. Next up I need to populate the foredeck with parked aircraft - that should be fun. Cheesey153
You're a clever sod really, aren't you? Mind if I mention something that doesn't quite look right to me?
Pete Wenman
Mind if I mention something that doesn't quite look right to me? Like me saying no is going to stop you ;) I can do with all the help going on this, so mention away P
Cheesey153
Like me saying no is going to stop you ;) Hmmm, you know me too well :) OK, are you going to leave the wake as it is? It just doesn't look turbulent enough to me - almost like the carrier is gently drifting along, resting lightly on the water's suface. I say churn it up - make that water ANGRY!! Or not. You're the artist, you decide :D
Dr Fester
You're a clever sod really, aren't you? I'll second that! Awesome work Pete, whilst most of us build models molded by someone else, you create true ART. Looking forward to seeing another masterpiece. Doc
Pete Wenman
Jon, Pete thanks for your comments OK, are you going to leave the wake as it is? It just doesn't look turbulent enough to me - almost like the carrier is gently drifting along, resting lightly on the water's suface. I say churn it up - make that water ANGRY!! Or not. You're the artist, you decide You're right the wake is no where near finished. I got it to a state I liked earlier on in the process, but then destroyed it over time while getting the stern of the carrier to something like the correct shape. Just for fun a composite of the value sketch and painting And I've just found out the deck was stained wood, not painted as currently portrayed. Oh well at least I found that out before I have added the parked aircraft Pete Edited January 28, 2007 by Pete Wenman

TF51GREGWISE
Pete- I think your painting is a work of art already!
Pete Wenman
Greg hi You say the nicest things  I've reworked the deck and I'm really happy with this change, as I feel this colour shows the deck better, but is also in harmony with the sea and sky (that's Arty talk for it looks ok) I do need to adjust some of the lines at the stern as it's apparent they are not all parallel :) Pete
Pete Wenman
Guys hi I couldn't let the GB end without at least getting the aircraft into the picture, seeing how this is an aircraft forum ! and a close up Seeing it like this I can't wait to start painting the Panther Keep your eyes on the Aviation Art forum as I'll carry this one on over there Great GB, I've really enjoyed seeing what you guys have come up with, and Jim aka Liberator24 even finished a kit Pete
