Cheers for the replies!

Any chance I can convince you af making a Fouga?
You sure can! Just commission me to do one! :beer4:
Any updates/progress on it?
Not yet. I just came back from a brief holiday, but tomorrow I'll be back on it. I think I'll have an update by the end of the week, or the next.

Looking good so far. Two things. The nose paint to much to the corner. Try adjusting the angle. I was told never to paint an aircraft down becasue it looks like it's going to crash. I brake this rule a lot but I think the angling the sky like you did helps it feel like is is going up. But the horison line points to the other corner.

I've been playing with 3ds Max... do you use primarily one method... i.e. NURBS... or do you employ multiple contruction techniques... I've been reviewing videos on the website lynda.com to pick up some techniques... not an easy application to learn and execute... Thanks!

My main modelling technique is called subdivisional modelling, which uses polygons then subdivides them with the Meshsmooth modifier. Here's a good tutorial that shows how to build a car using this technique:

Modeling an airplane follows a very similar work flow.

3DTotal has quite a few good tutorial, so do check them out.

Also once you get the grip of the basics, here's a forum post that should help you with the trickier areas of aircraft modeling:

Once you finish a model and get to the texturing (the 'painting'), I have a few tutorials on my website:

Good luck and let us know how you get on!
