kstater94
I was walking out of work today and saw the first (of four) Japanese KC-767 tankers returning from a test flight on final approach to McConnell AFB here in Wichita. The aircraft has now been painted up in Japanese markings and this will probably be the only time that I will ever get to see a JASDF aircraft... Thought I'd share what I saw Enjoy! GreyGhost
Thanks John, the KC-767 makes for a nice looking bird ! Gregg
Kingoalie
Did it used to have some type of flag motif on the tail before it got JASDF markings? I could have sworn that the last time I was in Wichita, that I saw a KC-767 with something resembling the British Airways "waves" on the tail. John
Kingoalie
I did a search on Airliners.net and I think this is the one I saw: Italian KC-767 John Edited February 22, 2007 by John King

David Walker
Great photos! I also like the Italian KC-767 paint scheme. The tail is very attractive.
kstater94
Thanks for the compliments guys Yes, I agree, the Italian tanker has an attractive scheme as well Here is a photo that I took of it on departure from McConnell back in January Cheers! John
Will2K65
I do like the look of the KC-767....have read that its a somewhat disappointing aircraft performance wise though. Apparently Boeing struggled to strengthen it enough for the amount of fuel it has to carry without making it *really* heavy, so the end result is a tanker that doesn't carry much more fuel than a KC-135 despite the fact that it should be able to haul a lot more!
