BAM'n'IVM
http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123042038 Sounds like a solo flight - one pilot ejected and is at the hospital. No mention of anyone being in the second seat.
yardbird78
Another example of the dangers of military flying. Glad to see the pilot is OK Darwin
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Yep, the most important bit is apparently safe. More T-38's out there, and after that more planes of other types, but only one him/her. Very good news.
Aggressor Supporter
Also glad to hear the pilot ejected safely.
hemspilot
Pilot was ambulatory and OK when I picked him up about a mile from the crash site. The T-38 must have gone in almost vertical 'cause the burn footprint in the mesquite trees was fairly small and there were no streaks or burrows. Also there was not much left to be seen of the a/c itself. Worked our way downwind and worked with a T-1 to find the pilot, flew him to Wilford Hall. Soooo, next time you ask a helicopter pilot how does a jet jockey look like to him, you know the answer from this Naval Aviator. Jokes aside I am just darn happy he is fine and shall fly again. Beer Night, and make it a Moretti. :)
BAM'n'IVM
Thanks for the update, Hemspilot. I love this place. Where else could you talk about a plane crash, and have someone who took the pilot to the hospital chime in?
