Can i use nail polish remover... As a thinner...?

Recommended Posts

Be careful - this stuff is acetone, and depending on what sort of airbrush you use, it could damage certain non-metallic components such as O-rings. I don't know which makes/models of airbrush might be affected... Very pungent fumes too, take usual precautions with air extraction and/or wearing a good respirator with special filters for gases/vapours.

I do use them as thinner sometimes. No problem at all.

And I use them mainly for cleaning my airbrush.

Edit: I just read that you don't have an airbrush. In that case DO NOT use acetone. Hand-brushing them on will damage plastic.

Be aware also ,some nail polish removers contain oils and ingredients to nourish and strengthen the fingernails themselves. These may cause adverse reactions to your paints.I would hold off and use proper thinners.
