HGE
I'm a little confused today....Can anybody please tell me if this is an old kit or a new release? Squadron's decription makes me think it is a old kit but I've been thinking it was one of their new 1/72 twin engin wonders like the B-25 or B-26 kit...?????????? Chuck1945
Someone with more interest in Japanese aircaft can be more specific, but Hasegawa has two basic G4M kits, one date back almost 40 years, the other one is much newer, perhaps last 5-10 years.

kaburaya
Hi HGE , the Hasegawa G4M1 is the old kit, limited detail with raised panel lines. The Hasegawa G4M2 is a new tooling, very good detail, supurb fit and engraved panel lines. The two aircraft are very different mainly wing cross section and shape, plus lots of other details. The G4M2 has a release with the Okha, but be aware this was only carried by the G4M1. Heres a pic of my G4M2 I built a few years back, years of genuine dust! Sorry forgot to mention I made an error with the painting, followed the instructions and painted the lower surfaces lt.grey, this is wrong it was left unpainted and quickley dulled to a matt finish. Hope this helps Peter
HGE
Thanks Guys!! Peter! Your G4M2 looks great! Maybe, a little silver powder rubbed into the bottom would give that look? Nothing like natural dust to give that even tone to a paint job! LOL <_<
