Those AIM-9M seeker body colors.

I finally had a chance to take a close up shot of an AIM-9M from the China Lake Museum. The photo shows a Gray/Green hue to the body and as you should be able to tell it is a hard anodized finish not a paint. The photo also reveals, at least to me that there are many variations on this anodizing process and as one man told me that worked Sidewinder here, "there was no standard shade and it could look many different shades of gray/green from dark to light, greener and grayer." So you be the judge and look at the histogram and see what it tells you. If anyone wants a full size photo let me know...

Not trying to dispute anything that has been writen just showing what I was able to take a picture of...

Those that have seen them "in the flesh" will tell you that the colors do vary from a dark metallic gray (with absolutely no hint of green) to a lighter version of the same color with a definite olive tint to it. That was true for live rounds and CATM's.
