Apex1701
I began work on this one last week-end. Here's some photos. I began with the cockpit, of course... To Eduard's PE I added some wires specially for the cable retracting the landing gear. I made the 2 holes that allowed light in the cockpit and 2 handholds. I made changes to the cokpit floor. Eduard made it solid but I choose to be a bit, a very tiny bit, more realistic. The interior is painted WUP interior grey primer. I ohe metal parts were painted IMUP blue-grey metal primer. Both of these colors are from White ensign. There were so different possibilities regarding I-16 interiors; the wooden parts could be clear doped, silver-grey lacquer, grey primer, even AII blue used for the underside, and more. The metal parts situation is a mess too!!! So I had to decide and Ichoose those two. In began work in the landing gear wells. Opened 3 windows. The oval things drawn by Eduard appears to be windows. Also the sidewall window in the right landing gear well was opened too. After doing it I've found that it was too far forward. It'll stay like it is. Wahsing, highlighting and addind color to the cockpit is next on my list. Jean

Apex1701
Progress report The cokcpit is finished. It's quite hard to see inside...anyway I know there's something in there and now you know it too ;-) I had to fit a spreader bar in the front so the wings will fit better. See the white rod in front of the cockpit. To help the wings to fit better I added some small plastic tab just over the wheel wells. See the white tab. The wings, tailplane and rudder are now attached to it. Some filling and sanding will be required. More on it later. Jean
