PBoilermaker Posted April 17, 2007 Share Posted April 17, 2007 I finally purchased the Heller C-135FR kit to make an eventual KC-135R (haven't been able to locate the AMT R). Unfortunately, the decals are an issue (I don't have any). Does anyone know of 1/72 KC-135R decal sheets that may still be available? I'd prefer a sheet that includes all markings (including the door outlines and wingwalks) for a modern, all-gray R. -Mike Quote Link to post Share on other sites

VM decals had a sheet for those at Kadena and I think Mountain Home but it was an Alps sheet and now out of print. One of my gripes is that the only subjects covered by the decal guys are the teen fighters. No tankers, very seldom any bombers, never a ELINT bird or a SOF aircraft irrespective of scale. KC-135R 23499, 22nd ARW, McConnel AFB- First aircraft with MPRS b. KC-135R 71432, 117th ARW, AL ANG 3. VM Decal sheet 72-005 a. KC-135R 60-?336, 909th ARS, Kadens AFB, Japan, tailcode ZZ, overall FS36173 b. KC-135R 61-?277, ? ARW, Mountain Home AFB, ID, tailcode MO, overall FS36173 - As already mentioned, OOP ALPS sheets 3. XtraDecal sheet 72-038 - contains markings for KC-135A's from: a. 5th BW/906th ARS, Minot AFB b. 7th BW/7th ARS, Carswell AFB c. 42nd BW, Loring AFB d. 92nd BW, Fairchild AFB e. 93th BW, Castle AFB f. 96th BW/917th ARS, Altus AFB g. 379th BW/920th ARS, Homestead AFB.
