Cobrahistorian
Hey all, I just wanted to let everyone know that starting this sunday, 6 May, I will be out of contact for the following 3 weeks. I'll be attending survival school during that time. If all goes well, I should be back, albeit a bit slimmer on 27 May and will be reachable once again after that time. Party on, and don't do anything I wouldn't do! Jon
The Rat
...and don't do anything I wouldn't do! Which I suspect gives us a hell of a lot of leeway. :D Have fun, and watch out for practical jokers, you'll find they congregate at such 'events'. Don't eat anything you haven't caught yourself! Albert Moore
At least you get Cinco De Mayo to yourself. :D Later El Tee, and remember, if it wiggles, it's edible. Cheers Bud, Alby

PBoilermaker
Yep, full-up SERE C. Good luck with that one. Hopefully you won't receive any beatings that will temporarily remove you from flight status. -Mike

Guest LITTLE BIRD 117
Ah man...... SERE C, good luck with that, every pilot I have talked to says there is no way of not getting caught by the "guards". They say it is a beating, but hay if you stick together and and not make any quick movements you might be able to run longer. NO ROADS!!!!! Jake

uscusn
You know it's the physical part that will go away eventually. But the mental anguish your put through tends to linger a little longer. Take care it is an experience that will serve you well in the end. Take care and remember, there is a lot of mental evolutions you will go through, there is a reason why it kind a sorta feels real. Learn from it and pay attention. The training is very intense. Good Luck! Chuck Fly Navy USN SERE 1990 Edited May 3, 2007 by uscusn
Chris Kethan
That was the single school in the NAVY that I learned the most and would LEAST like to repeat. Upstate Maine in December, no food for 5 days, below zero temps, 2 feet of snow on the ground with no snow shoes (it's not like a east Texas cracker like me knows how to walk in them anyway)....It sucked, pure and simple. Good luck, we're all counting on you. Chris USN Sere 1989 Edited May 3, 2007 by Chris Kethan

ccrqw
Yep, full-up SERE C. I don;t make comments as much as I use to but I had to jump in on this one...as former USAF SERE guy myself I'm glad to see the ARMY has finally beefed up their program for more than just the SOF guys. it is something that all aircrews need. When you get to SERE training say hello to an old friend of mine named Rocky Mullen. I'm sure he will show you a good time. Good luck and god speed
Cobrahistorian
In a class with 49 other officers, its a bit obvious... With the events of the past few years, the Army's seen fit to upgrade our SERE qualification and actually teach us what we need to know. I'm glad for it and I'm sure I'm going to learn a LOT. Still doesn't take the suck factor out of it though... Jon
