johnnymac
The topic says it all. I've seen these on a lot of 1/32 F-15 kits armed with AIM-9L's. The covers have the little piece on the front with the hole to attach the RBF tags. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks, John
eizzle
I dont know who sells them, but I can tell you how I have seen it done ( I havent done this myself, so if it doesnt work, dont yell at me) Dip the end of the missle in some yellow paint and let it sit for a few minutes, than hang it that way to dry and that should do it, but like I said, I have never done this. lockheed2004
I tried to order these previously. They haven't been available for at least 2 years. I have no idea why they're in the catalog still. It does give you something to start with however. Scot M
I think I am going to make my own also, using the sprue from the model kit,it's a pretty simple shape really.Shouldn't be hard to make at all....
DutyCat
Here is how I have seen it done. Go down to the local hardware store, missile in hand, and buy a small section of insulated wire of the approximate diameter of your missile. Strip off some insulation and cut a small section of it (the insulation) to the right length. Fill the end with glue of some sort, and paint it. That's it, except for attaching a RBF tag. Discard the useless wire.
Incaroad
These have to be some of the easiest things in the world to make. Takes all of 10 minutes start to actually painting them. Check these out... 1/48th scale but 1/32 ain't gonna be that much different. Aluminum tubing in your dremel tool and put a bit of ACC on the end for a cap, put a bit of styrene with a little hole in it and viola an AIM-9L/M seeker cover... How much easier can it be. Hope that helps a little... Cheers, Larry.
johnnymac
Gentlemen, Thank you all for your responses. lockheed2004, those are exactly the ones I was looking for. However, the rest of you have guilted me into it, and I am now going down to the laboratory to scratch build a set. I think it's going to take longer than 10 minutes, though!
